Many administrative agencies and public service units save more than 62 billion VND

On the afternoon of July 24, the Economic - Budget Committee of the An Giang Provincial People's Council met to review the report and draft resolution on socio-economic development of An Giang province in 2025 to be submitted to the 2nd Session of the 10th Provincial People's Council.

The meeting reviewed and basically agreed on the report on estimated financial budget implementation in the first 6 months of the year and the forecast for the whole year of 2025; report on the results of implementing thrift and fighting waste in the first 6 months of the year and the work program for the last 6 months of 2025; draft resolution regulating the decentralization of revenue sources, expenditure tasks and the percentage of revenue sharing among budget levels during the budget stabilization period of 2022 - 2025 in An Giang province; draft resolution on estimated state budget revenue in the area, local budget revenue and expenditure and local budget allocation of An Giang province in 2025; draft resolution on total loan amount, borrowing and debt repayment plan of An Giang province's budget in 2025.

Deputy Director of An Giang Provincial Department of Finance Trinh Trung Tin explained issues raised by delegates at the meeting.

According to the report of the People's Committee of An Giang province, the work of practicing thrift and fighting waste has had positive changes, focusing on key points, demonstrating openness and transparency in the activities of agencies and units.

In the first 6 months of 2025, all sectors and levels have strictly controlled public spending, managed public assets and budgets for the right purposes and regimes. Implementing the mechanism of autonomy and self-responsibility for the use of payroll and funds, 117 administrative agencies saved 15.1 billion VND, 69 public service units saved 47.6 billion VND.

Regarding the practice of thrift and anti-waste in investment in construction of projects using State budget capital: In the 2025 public investment plan, An Giang province was assigned 21,306 billion VND by the Prime Minister and 26,116 billion VND by the Provincial People's Council. By June 30, 2025, the disbursement value compared to the plan assigned by the Prime Minister reached 25.97%; disbursement compared to the plan assigned by the Provincial People's Council reached 21.19%.

The work of examining and settling investment capital has approved the settlement of 998 completed projects. Through examination, the settlement value of expenditures that did not meet standards, norms, and policies worth VND 88.3 billion was removed.

Through the review, the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council proposed that the Provincial People's Committee continue to monitor, review and handle public assets such as houses and land after the rearrangement; focus on speeding up the progress of implementation and disbursement of public investment; perform well the work of collecting and spending the State budget in the last 6 months of 2025...
