Many 'hot' majors have a minimum admission score of 15.

Van Lang University has just announced the minimum admission scores for 59 majors in 4 methods. Among them, a series of majors that are considered 'hot' in recent years have a minimum score of only 15.

Dr. Vo Van Tuan, Vice Principal of Van Lang University, said that in 2025, the school will use 4 methods with a lower admission floor score than in 2024.

Specifically, if in 2024, in the high school graduation exam score method, all majors had a floor score of 16, this year it decreased by 1 point, to 15. Among them, there are many "hot" majors that have attracted candidates for many years such as multimedia communications, graphic design, law, English language, Korean language, e-commerce, automotive engineering technology, architecture... In particular, the floor score of health majors is according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The score of one subject in the 2025 high school graduation exam will decrease compared to 2024, so many universities will reduce the minimum score for admission.

In the method of considering academic records, the school's admission score is 18, the same as last year. For the medical, dental and pharmaceutical majors, it is 23; nursing and medical laboratory technology is 19. With the method of considering competency assessment test scores, the floor score is 600 (in 2024 it is 650), for the medical, dental and pharmaceutical majors, it is 700; nursing and medical laboratory technology is 650.

With the V-SAT test results method, the school takes a score of 225; for medicine, dentistry and pharmacy it is 265, and for nursing and medical laboratory technology it is 245.

Dr. Tuan noted that candidates applying for admission to health majors (not applicable to the high school exam score method) must meet the following conditions: for medical, pharmaceutical, and dental majors, candidates must have a 12th grade academic performance ranked from good or higher or a high school graduation score of 8.0 or higher; for nursing and medical laboratory technology majors, candidates must have a 12th grade academic performance ranked from fair or higher or a high school graduation score of 6.5 or higher.

For piano and vocal music, music aptitude subject 2 multiplied by coefficient 2; music aptitude subject 1 and literature must achieve 5 points or higher, music aptitude subject 2 must achieve 7 points or higher.

For drama, film and television actors, film and television directors, stage and cinema aptitude subject 2 multiplied by coefficient 2; stage and cinema aptitude subject 1 and literature must achieve 5 points or higher, stage and cinema aptitude subject 2 must achieve 7 points or higher.

If candidates use the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment test scores to apply for admission to the majors of fashion design, graphic design, digital art design, industrial design, interior design, and architecture, in addition to the prescribed score, candidates must achieve a drawing aptitude test score of 5.0 or higher (on a 10-point scale). The drawing aptitude score is not included in the total admission score.

V-SAT scores are not used for admission to 10 majors: drama acting, film and television, film and television directing, piano, vocal music, fashion design, graphic design, digital art design, interior design, architecture, and industrial design.
