Many schools with low benchmark scores have members participating in the national excellent student competition.

(Dan Tri) - This year, high schools with the lowest admission scores for grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh City such as Tan Tuc, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia... have students participating in the national excellent student competition for the first time.

On the morning of December 19, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City organized a launching ceremony to recruit excellent students of Ho Chi Minh City to participate in the national excellent high school student exam for the 2024-2025 school year.

This year, the whole city has 236 best students winning first prizes from 12 teams in the subjects of math, physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, literature, history, geography, English, French, Chinese and Japanese selected to join the HCMC excellent student team to compete in the national excellent student competition.

Students participating in the team come from Le Hong Phong, Tran Dai Nghia, Nguyen Thuong Hien, Gia Dinh, Mac Dinh Chi, Tran Phu, Tran Van Giau, Phu Nhuan, Tan Tuc, Nguyen Huu Huan, Ngo Quyen, Le Quy Don, Marie Curie High Schools; Trung Vuong, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Hoang Hoa Tham and Duc Tri Secondary and High Schools.

In addition to students from specialized high schools and top schools, this year many high schools with 10th grade entrance scores in the bottom group have students participating in the national excellent student exam.

Last year, Tan Tuc High School had a standard score of 14 points for entering grade 10, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia High School had 15.5 points. Next, Hoang Hoa Tham High School had 18.25 points, Ngo Quyen High School had 18.75 points.

Notably, this year in Ho Chi Minh City there is a private school with students taking the national excellent exam, Duc Tri Secondary and High School.

In the 2023-2024 school year, Ho Chi Minh City won 110 national excellent student awards, the second highest number of awards in the country, only after Hanoi .
