More than 10 years ago, when he got married, he only had 300 coffee trees that his parents had divided up. With little land and little capital, many people said it would be difficult for him to escape poverty. But with his will and desire to change his life, Mr. Xuin traveled far and wide to learn from good farmers in the area, attending all technical training classes, from pruning, fertilizing to watering and caring for plants. Wherever there was an effective model, he went to learn, then boldly applied it on his own garden.

From the initial few acres of land, he has now expanded the area to 5 hectares of coffee, of which nearly 4 hectares have produced stable harvests, with a yield of 20 tons of beans in 2024, selling for 123,000 VND/kg. In addition, he also raises cows and grows durian to diversify his income sources.

What people appreciate the most is Secretary Xuin's spirit of sharing. He persistently guides people in planting techniques, taking care of trees, and keeping land for production, and encourages them not to sell land for immediate profit. He tells people: "If you have land, health, and diligence, you don't have to fear poverty. Selling land and spending all your money will create social evils. Only keeping land for production will be sustainable."

Ktang village now has only 2 near-poor households out of a total of 199 households; many Bana households have an income of 400-500 million VND/year; 100% of village roads are concreted, and the landscape is increasingly spacious.

KDang Commune Party Secretary Le Thi Hue commented: Comrade Xuin is an exemplary, responsible, and dedicated Party cell secretary. He is not afraid of difficulties, always devoted to his work, creating trust among the people, making an important contribution to bringing the Party's policies and the State's policies into life.

Mr. Thong - Party Cell Secretary and Head of Groi Wet Village - said: At the age of 60, Mr. Alip still spends most of his time teaching gongs and making traditional musical instruments to the young generation. Wherever needed, he goes, regardless of the distance, sun or rain.

For Mr. Alip, traditional culture can only be truly preserved when the younger generation continues. “The biggest concern is that the younger generation will forget the sound of gongs and drums – forget their cultural roots. The responsibility of a party member is not only to preserve but also to spread, so that those values will live forever,” he confided.

Thanks to that enthusiasm, the sound of gongs and drums in Groi Wet still echoes every festival season. Many young people in the village are passionate about learning gongs and making musical instruments; community activities are maintained regularly. The Bahnar cultural identity in Groi Wet is not lost.

In 2024, Mr. Alip was honored to receive a certificate of merit from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism for his outstanding achievements in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values.

Mr. Huynh shared: “Not only me, but all 13 party members in the Party Cell have determined to be exemplary. First of all, we must escape poverty, because party members cannot be poor. Next, we must be the leader in everything, unite so that people believe and follow.”

Referring to the achievements of the village that has met the new rural standards since 2018 and held the title of Outstanding Cultural Village at the provincial level for more than 10 consecutive years, Mr. Huynh said that propaganda and mobilization work plays a decisive role. Through persistent mobilization, people's awareness has gradually changed.

Now, all 116 households in the village no longer let their livestock roam freely, each household has a stable, a garbage pit, and a solid toilet. People voluntarily donate land to open roads, build fences, plant flowers, and renovate coffee and pepper gardens. Thanks to that, the village roads are all concreted, and the living space is bright, green, clean, and beautiful. To date, the village has only 6 poor households left.

Mr. Siu Klo - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Ia Pia commune - affirmed: The most valuable thing in O Ngol village is the spirit of solidarity. The most obvious manifestation is that in funerals, people all join hands to help each other; fully participate in all meetings of the village and commune.

In every movement, party members always take the lead, creating a strong influence in the community. That spirit is also shown in the sense of vigilance, protecting security and order, not listening to bad people who incite and divide the great solidarity bloc.
