Vacationing on super yachts, flying private jets, and staying in villas rented by celebrities are the perks of working as a maid for the super rich.
Ginger Rose Smith, 27, living in Los Angeles, USA, shared her experience as a nanny for a Middle Eastern royal family. The time living with them gave Smith the clearest understanding of how "the richest of the rich live".

One of Smith's most memorable experiences was when she and her host family went to Universal Studios Hollywood in the US. They had their own tour guide and didn't have to wait in line for rides. And when they went on a ride, no other park visitors were allowed to ride with them. "That day was crazy," Smith recalls of the unique experience. Smith has now quit her nanny job, which she took five years ago because she wanted to earn money while doing an unpaid internship.
Sami, from Prince Edward Island, Canada, has been working as a maid for an American billionaire family for two years. She enjoys luxurious perks like vacationing with the family on a luxury yacht and traveling by private plane. Sami says many families will take their nannies along on their expensive vacations because they want someone to help them out. As a result, many maids get to "freeload" on trips they wouldn't dare take even if they saved up for their entire lives.
Sami shared her yacht vacation on TikTok with the caption "life is good" and attracted more than 8 million views. Many people left comments saying she had a dream job.

Katrina Martin, another maid, regularly shares her glamorous vacations on her social media pages. In a video with over 3.2 million views, Martin admits that her most profitable job is being a maid. Her employer took her to the Turks & Caicos Islands on a private jet, staying in a villa “like nothing I’ve ever seen before.” Martin was stunned by the size of the villa and its popularity when staff revealed that celebrities like Drake, Rihanna, and many Victoria’s Secret models had stayed there.
Luxury travel is also a perk for 19-year-old nanny Valerie DaBaldo. DaBaldo is a student and a summer housekeeper, which allows her to travel for free to Greece, Florida and Long Beach Island in the US.
In addition to the travel, being a nanny for the rich also brings in high income, four times the average salary of other jobs. Many earn between $175,000 and $400,000 a year. According to Elite Nannies, a Los Angeles-based company that specializes in providing nannies for the rich, the requirements of employers are not too harsh. "They want a nanny with a unique personality and sometimes knowing two languages is an advantage," said a representative of Elite Nannies.
