V-League 2025-2026 with many notable changes in format and professional regulations, promises a dramatic and attractive season for audiences nationwide.
The tournament will start on August 15, 2025 and is expected to end in mid-June 2026, taking place in a double round-robin format with 14 participating clubs, a total of 26 rounds and 182 matches.
This season, the relegation race is expected to be more fierce, as the two teams at the bottom of the table will be relegated directly, with no relegation play-offs like in previous seasons.
The list of participating teams includes: Becamex Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Becamex Binh Duong), Hanoi Police, Ho Chi Minh City Police (formerly Ho Chi Minh City Club), Dong A Thanh Hoa, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Hong Linh Ha Tinh, Ninh Binh, PVF-CAND, SHB Da Nang, Song Lam Nghe An, Thep Xanh Nam Dinh and The Cong Viettel.
Notably, after the administrative boundary merger, the season saw many exciting derbies. In addition, the new regulations allow AFC Cup clubs (Nam Dinh, Hanoi Police) to register up to 7 foreign players, while the remaining teams are only allowed 4. However, the number of foreign players on the field is still limited to 3 people/match.

The transfer market will open in two phases: from July 15 to September 14 and from January 25, 2026 to March 17, 2026, with the deadline for registering the official list at the beginning of the season being August 1. The total prize value for the three leading teams is up to 9.5 billion VND, creating a strong competitive motivation.
In terms of television, all 182 matches will be broadcast live onFPT Play and digital platforms, with VAR support nationwide, ensuring professional quality and the best experience for the audience.
With a clear format, tight schedule and many improvements in both expertise and communication, V-League 2025-2026 is expected to bring fierce and attractive competitions from the championship race to the relegation battle. This is also an important preparation step for Vietnamese clubs before entering the continental playground.
