On the afternoon of October 3, the People's Committee of Hoi An Dong Ward (Da Nang City) held a press conference to announce the operation of Thanh Tam inland waterway tourism wharf and introduce Cam Thanh tourist village, which was honored by Forbes Magazine (USA) as one of the top 20 of the 50 most beautiful tourist villages in the world in 2025.

Mr. Nguyen Hung, Party Secretary, and Mr. Tran Tan Dung, Chairman of Hoi An Dong Ward People's Committee, chaired the meeting and provided press information.

According to the People's Committee of Hoi An Dong Ward, on September 11, 2025, Forbes Magazine announced the list of Top 50 Most Beautiful Villages in the World in 2025. In which, Cam Thanh is the only village in Vietnam to be honored at number 20 in the 50 most beautiful villages in the world.

Cam Thanh is the land at the end of the river and the beginning of the sea, the meeting place of three rivers Thu Bon - Truong Giang - Lo Canh Giang with the East Sea, the intersection of two salt and fresh water areas; creating a rare brackish water ecosystem.

This is also the buffer zone of the Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An world biosphere reserve, possessing diverse natural resources that nurture aquatic life and act as a lung to regulate the climate for the Hoi An area.

Rivers, fields, bamboo hedges, coconut bushes..., communal houses, temples, and village roads have created Cam Thanh like a watercolor painting.

The experience of riding a basket boat in Cam Thanh coconut forest is popular with tourists.

Cam Thanh stands out with the Bay Mau Coconut Forest, nearly 100 hectares wide; preserving many unique features of the coastal estuary mangrove ecosystem, surrounded by natural sandbars.

Community tourism models (basket boat experiences, cooking classes, homestays, etc.) and products processed from coconuts and coastal seafood have turned the coconut forest ecosystem into a long-term source of income for local people, improving livelihoods and reducing pressure on natural destruction compared to many mass tourism models.

Mr. Tran Tan Dung, Chairman of Hoi An Ward People's Committee, said that Cam Thanh being honored by Forbes in the Top 50 most beautiful villages in the world in 2025 is a great pride of local people, and at the same time affirms the increasingly high position of Da Nang tourism on the world map.

This is not only an opportunity for Cam Thanh village to continue to promote its potential and preserve its identity, but also a driving force to build the brand "green destination - heritage - sustainability", contributing to promoting the image of Da Nang in particular and Vietnam tourism in general further in the international arena.

To meet the increasing demand of tourists visiting the Bay Mau Coconut Forest Cultural and Historical Site in Cam Thanh; to promptly improve the quality of wharf infrastructure items serving waterway tourism, on September 22, the People's Committee of Hoi An Dong Ward issued a Decision on announcing the operation of Thanh Tam Inland Waterway Tourist Wharf.

The operation of Thanh Tam Inland Waterway Tourist Wharf will contribute to the development of the waterway transport network, enhance the connection of river tourism routes, create a highlight of tourism infrastructure, improve the quality of local services; promote socio-economic development and promote the image of Hoi An Dong Ward - Da Nang as a civilized, modern and friendly tourist destination.
