Keeping the family fire burning

Continuing the glorious tradition of the “Three Responsibilities” movement, An Giang women today not only play a supporting role but also rise to become the core force, contributing to leading and promoting the socio -economic development of the province. With flexibility and sensitivity, they skillfully divide their time, taking good care of their families while learning, asserting their position at work and contributing to the community.

Despite her busy work schedule, Ms. Nguyen Thi Diem, residing in Vinh Hoa commune, still fulfills her role as a mother and wife well. For her, the secret to keeping the family happy is simple but cozy meals with her husband and children every day. No matter how busy she is, she still takes time to care for her husband and children, keeping the family full of love and closeness.

Marriage is the beginning of building a new family, but to maintain happiness, it always requires effort, hard work and responsibility from both husband and wife. After 25 years of living together, Ms. Danh Thi Hanh, living in Rach Gia ward, always cherishes and preserves the "flame" of marriage.

Ms. Hanh said that whether they were in love or had been together for many years, she and her husband always talked, shared and adjusted and changed together to suit. “The secret to keeping a happy family is not too difficult. Besides taking care of the economy, we educate our children about building a happy family. The most important thing is that there must be equality, harmony and listening to each other among the members,” Ms. Hanh shared.

Good at economics

An Giang women are increasingly aware of their roles and responsibilities, constantly studying and training to improve their political level, expertise and professional skills. They are intelligent, dynamic, creative women, striving to master science and technology and striving for the goal of gender equality and women's advancement. They are not only kind and capable wives and mothers, but also good leaders and businesswomen, with many positive contributions, affirming their position on the journey of sustainable development of their homeland.

Ms. Tran Thi Vy - Director of Kenh 10 Agricultural Production and Service Cooperative, U Minh Thuong Commune, strives to build a strong cooperative. In 2019, the cooperative was established and is considered the "savior" for agricultural products of U Minh Thuong. As Director of the Cooperative, Ms. Vy constantly learns, improves production experience, actively participates in training courses organized by the locality, then shares with members.

Ms. Vy said: “To help the cooperative operate effectively, my members and I proactively research and access social networking platforms to promote and introduce products. The cooperative also mobilizes resources, equipment and machinery to improve production efficiency; learn to innovate and bring the best quality products to the market.”

In addition to linking output for local agricultural products, Ms. Vy also produces banana fiber and handicraft products from banana fiber to increase income for U Minh Thuong people. From 2023 to now, the cooperative has invested more than 1 billion VND in greenhouse systems and machinery to process banana stems.

“After investing in machinery, I found a company to sign a contract to purchase banana rope and fiber to develop production. In 2025, the cooperative signed an additional contract to process about 4,000 carpet products for export to Japan,” Ms. Vy said.

Boldly starting a business with a new model, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen, a resident of Thanh Hung commune, converted 5,200 square meters of ineffective rice fields into raised beds to plant 400 seedless lemon trees. After 18 months, the lemons bore fruit and were harvested. Seedless lemons bear fruit all year round, averaging about 30 - 40 kg/tree/year. "Lemons are easy to grow, easy to care for, and require low investment capital. Thanks to growing seedless lemons, my family has a regular income and the breeding life is better," Ms. Quyen said.

With the companionship, support and facilitation of the Party and State, An Giang women continue to reach out, constantly develop and confidently affirm their position in building the image of Vietnamese women in the new era with knowledge, courage, humanity, creativity and integration.

In recent times, the An Giang Provincial Women's Union has constantly innovated its content and methods of operation, widely launched patriotic emulation movements, creating a strong influence in the community, attracting a large number of female members to participate, contributing to enhancing the position of the organization and women in social life. Through the movements, the Women's Union at all levels has commended and rewarded more than 3,000 outstanding collectives and individuals in implementing patriotic emulation movements and campaigns.
