According to the report of Van Lang Commune People's Committee, not only houses, but also transport infrastructure were severely affected. More than 114 landslides on inter-village roads have isolated many areas, making transportation and initial relief extremely difficult. Damage to irrigation works and domestic water supply is estimated at about 520 million VND. Total damage to agriculture, forestry and fishery is up to more than 3 billion VND.
With the spirit of urgently stabilizing the lives of the people, the Commune People's Committee mobilized all cadres, militia, youth union members, and police officers to quickly support people to overcome the consequences of the flood. With the high determination of the forces, most of the main roads of the commune have been temporarily cleared, opening the way for relief teams to approach the people.
Along with the efforts of the locality, agencies, units and volunteer groups inside and outside the province quickly came to Van Lang, bringing clothes, clean water, medicine and necessities. On the evening of October 10, the commune received 3 tons of rice from the Thai Nguyen Provincial Military Command to urgently support the people.
