Female student 'argued' with lecturer because she was reminded to eat noodles in class

After the video of a student "arguing" with a lecturer went viral online, Phenikaa University (Hanoi) said the female student had apologized to the lecturer and her classmates, and pledged to learn from her mistakes.

On October 21, a video clip of more than a minute long was circulated on social media, recording a female student "arguing" with a lecturer in class, attracting many interactions and comments.

According to the recorded video, after being asked to leave the classroom by the lecturer for violating classroom rules, the female student apologized to the lecturer and said that eating noodles in class caused a smell but did not affect anyone and "everyone makes mistakes" and needs to be understood.

The female student then continued to stand with her arms crossed, arguing with the lecturer and refusing to leave the classroom. The lecturer decided to stop the class and said that she would make up the time for students who wanted to take the class another day.

Many people after watching the video that went viral online said that the female student standing and "arguing" with the teacher was not standard, and that her behavior and words were inappropriate in the classroom.

On the same day, the Student Affairs and Entrepreneurship Department - Phenikaa University confirmed that the school had grasped the above incident and believed that the student had not complied with school culture rules, displayed inappropriate attitudes, behaviors and words in the classroom, affecting lecturers and classmates.

"These behaviors go against the ethical standards and core values ​​of Phenikaa students," said the Student Affairs and Entrepreneurship Board.

According to the school, this morning, the leaders of the School of Economics (Phenikaa University), the Faculty of Tourism and representatives of the Student Affairs and Entrepreneurship Department of Phenikaa University worked directly with students and lecturers. At the same time, they discussed with parents to update information in a timely and accurate manner, in order to closely coordinate between families and the school in supporting, guiding and accompanying students.

Through the process, students became aware of inappropriate behavior in class, expressed apologies to the lecturer and classmates, and committed to learning from experience and adjusting their learning attitudes.

"At the same time, teachers from the school psychology counseling department, under the Student Affairs and Entrepreneurship Department, directly supported and accompanied students to ensure their mental health and the best learning conditions.

Phenikaa University always attaches importance to building a civilized, respectful and humane learning environment, where each lecturer and student understands, shares and supports each other to grow together," the school said.

Phenikaa University requires its students to demonstrate responsible behavior in cyberspace.

According to the school, sharing, commenting or spreading unverified information related to the school, lecturers or other students is a violation of regulations and can damage the collective reputation. Each student needs to know how to select, verify and behave properly on social networks, demonstrating the courage and intelligence of students in the digital age.

The school will strictly handle violations according to regulations, in order to maintain a healthy, respectful and civilized learning environment.
