Vietnam Education Publishing House donates textbooks to schools in flood-hit Dien Bien

Joining hands to overcome difficulties, Vietnam Education Publishing House has donated more than 1,200 sets of textbooks to students of flood-affected schools in Dien Bien.

The floods in late July and early August caused heavy damage in many communes of Dien Bien province, including many schools, teaching equipment and students' books being completely damaged.

Recently, at Chieng So Ethnic Boarding Secondary School (Muong Luan Commune, Dien Bien Province), Vietnam Education Publishing House (NXBGDVN) coordinated with Dien Bien Department of Education and Training to organize a program to donate textbooks and support students affected by natural disasters.

The delegation of the Vietnam Education Publishing House includes: Mr. Nguyen Chi Binh, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam Education Publishing House; Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hong, Director of the Education Publishing House in Hanoi ; Mr. Vu Thanh Binh, Deputy Head of Business Department of Hanoi Education Investment and Development Joint Stock Company. Accompanying the Vietnam Education Publishing House delegation is Mr. Tran Quang Duc, Director of the Dien Bien Province Book and School Equipment Joint Stock Company.

Representatives of local leaders included Mr. Tran Dang Ninh, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dien Bien; representatives of the People's Committee of Muong Luan commune; Mr. Nguyen Danh Hy, Principal of Chieng So Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities. Representatives of the Board of Directors of the schools: Suoi Lu Primary and Secondary School, Muong Luan Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, Tia Dinh Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, Tia Dinh Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities and teachers, students of Chieng So Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, and parents also attended the book donation ceremony.

Giving more strength to students in flood-affected areas to continue going to school

At the ceremony, the Vietnam Education Publishing House presented 1,235 sets of textbooks worth a total of VND290 million to students affected by natural disasters such as floods and landslides at five schools in Muong Luan, Xa Dung and Tia Dinh communes.

Dien Bien Books and School Equipment Joint Stock Company also donated many school supplies worth 75 million VND to affected schools.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Binh, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Education Publishing House, shared : "We hope that today's book series will not only be a source of knowledge, but also a word of encouragement and strength for students in flood-affected areas to continue going to school and nurture their dreams."

Mr. Nguyen Danh Hy, Principal of Chieng So Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, emotionally said: " Many of our classrooms were buried in mud, desks and chairs were severely damaged, and students lacked books. This timely support not only reduced the material burden but also gave teachers and students confidence to step into the new school year."

Over the years, NXBGDVN has always maintained social and charitable activities, donating educational books, learning equipment, scholarships, etc. to students and schools in disadvantaged and flood-prone areas across the country. The above programs and activities demonstrate the sentiments and community responsibilities of NXBGDVN on the path of developing the education career and the career of cultivating people.
