Mr. Le Quang Vinh was appointed General Director of Vietcombank.

(NLDO) - At the extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders of Vietcombank on March 7, Mr. Le Quang Vinh was also elected to the Board of Directors for the 2023 - 2028 term.

Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) has just announced the appointment of Mr. Le Quang Vinh as General Director from March 7.

Mr. Le Quang Vinh was born in 1976, graduated with a major in Finance - Banking from the National Economics University (NEU, 1994 - 1998) and has a master's degree in finance from the University of New South Wales (Australia).

He started his career at Vietcombank in July 1999 as an officer of the Investment Appraisal and Securities Department at the head office. In August 2001, he transferred to the Project Investment Department, before temporarily stopping work to pursue a master's degree in Sydney, Australia from 2002 to 2003.

After completing his master's program, he returned to Vietcombank to work in the Project Investment Department, then was appointed as Secretary of the Board of Directors from September 2004. In January 2006, he held the position of Deputy Head of the Project Investment Department.

During the period 2006 - 2014, Mr. Vinh held many important management positions in the Vietcombank system including: Deputy Head of Retail Banking Policy and Products Department, Director of Vietcombank Financial Leasing Company...

After completing his term at Vietcombank Leasing Company, he returned to Vietcombank headquarters and held the position of Head of Credit Risk Management Department (now Credit Approval Department) from 2014 to 2017.

By the end of 2017, he was appointed Deputy General Director of Vietcombank, in charge of credit approval.

The position of General Director of Vietcombank has been vacant since July 2024, when Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung was elected by the Board of Directors of Vietcobank to hold the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors. Immediately after that, the Board of Directors of Vetcombank assigned Mr. Le Quang Vinh the position of Deputy General Director in charge of the Executive Board of Vietcombank.

At the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of Vietcombank held on March 7, Mr. Le Quang Vinh was also elected by shareholders to the Board of Directors for the 2023 - 2028 term.
