Associate Professor, Dr. was appointed Principal of the University of Transport

(Dan Tri) - On December 18, at the University of Transport, the decision to recognize Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hung as principal for the 2020-2025 term was announced.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Hung, born on May 11, 1973 in Hung Yen city.

From 1990 to 1995, he studied Road and Bridge Construction at the University of Transport.

October 1995 - April 1998, he studied for a master's degree at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.

December 2001-March 2005, he studied for a PhD at Moscow State University of Roads.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Hung used to be a lecturer, trained and matured at the University of Transport.

He has held many positions such as: Deputy Head of Foreign Affairs Department, Head of Foreign Affairs - Science and Technology Department, Deputy Director of Branch, Vice Principal and Director of Branch of the school.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Hung has experienced extensive management work in many different fields and has always excellently completed assigned tasks.

He has won the title of Emulation Fighter for many consecutive years; received many certificates of merit from the Ministry of Education and Training, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; commemorative medal for the cause of education from the Minister of Education and Training; Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister in 2015...

According to Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son, in the context of international integration and changing industry, universities are facing many challenges. In particular, school principals play an important role in the development of the school.

"The principal's vision and leadership capacity are key in mobilizing and connecting resources, creating a solid foundation for the school's sustainable development.

I believe that as principal, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hung will quickly promote his knowledge and experience and coordinate to strongly develop the school.

The University of Transport needs to take the lead in training and scientific research, prepare high-quality human resources, and master technology such as: training high-quality human resources, research to serve the construction of high-speed railways on the North-South axis; planning and building urban railway traffic systems; and smart transportation," said the Deputy Minister.

Accepting the Deputy Minister's opinion, the new Principal of the University of Transport pledged to work with the school to effectively implement the programs and work plans of the Ministry of Education and Training, building the school into a key, prestigious and high-quality university.

Those tasks cannot be completed if only based on my personal efforts and the school leaders' efforts. We hope to receive the trust, help and companionship of all teachers, workers and generations of students of the school," the new Principal shared.
