With this victory, the Vietnamese team defeated Singapore in both semi-final matches with a final score of 5-1, thereby registering their name in the final of the AFF Cup 2024.

This victory also helped the Vietnamese team maintain a 26-year unbeaten streak against Singapore (since the 0-1 loss in the 1998 Tiger Cup final) with a total of 16 matches (8 wins, 8 draws).

Notably, this was the match where the striker duo Xuan Son and Tien Linh shone, contributing to all 3 goals of the home team (Xuan Son scored a double, the remaining goal was scored by Tien Linh from the penalty spot in the 90+3 minute of extra time).
