In his opening speech, Mr. Pham Nguyen Toan, Vice President of the Vietnam Real Estate Association and Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam Real Estate Electronic Magazine, said that after 40 years of Doi Moi, nearly 950,000 enterprises and more than 5 million business households have contributed about 50% of GDP, creating jobs for 80% of the social workforce.
“More importantly, it is the rise of a class of national entrepreneurs, who are committed with intelligence and aspiration, with the belief that being rich is not only for themselves but also for serving the Fatherland,” said Mr. Toan.
According to him, the challenge now is how to make Vietnamese enterprises truly become “national enterprises”, not only having Vietnamese nationality, but also carrying within themselves a national mission and a will to be self-reliant. To form this force, according to Mr. Toan, a strong transformation is needed from vision to institution, from capacity to belief.

Dr. Le Xuan Nghia, Member of the Prime Minister's Policy Advisory Council, former Vice Chairman of the National Financial Supervision Committee, said that the aspiration for prosperity by 2045 is not only an economic goal, but also a journey to create a comprehensively developed, rich and humane nation.
He affirmed: “If we want to be strong and self-reliant, we must have national enterprises.” According to Mr. Nghia, the mettle of national enterprises is reflected in three values: autonomy and creativity, daring to pioneer; responsibility and humanity, linking interests with the community; and national aspirations, doing business not only for profit but for the future of the country.
“Only when we have businesses that master technology and manufacturing industry, and nurture the aspiration to reach international standards from within the nation, can we realize the aspiration of a powerful industrial nation by 2045,” Mr. Nghia said.
Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh, member of the Prime Minister's Policy Advisory Council and former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs , said that the aspiration for prosperity by 2045 is not only a common aspiration at the national level, but must spread to every individual and every business.
According to him, the Vietnamese business community, especially national enterprises, is a "spirited" force to affirm the country's position in the international arena. However, he noted that Vietnam has passed the opening stage and entered the repositioning stage in the global value chain.
Unlike South Korea or Japan, which have strongly protected domestic enterprises, Vietnam must choose its own path: nurturing and developing national enterprises in an integrated environment, while creating close links with FDI enterprises and domestic value chains.
Experts at the workshop agreed that the aspiration for prosperity by 2045 can only come true when a strong national business force is formed, capable of leading the value chain, and creating a self-reliant and sustainable economy.
National enterprises not only enrich themselves, but also become the “economic vanguard”, contributing to affirming Vietnam’s position in the new economic order. This is considered the foundation for the country to move towards the goal of becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045.
