Over the 19 years of establishment, the Hanoi Association of Former Youth Volunteers and its grassroots organizations have played a good role as a common home for former Youth Volunteers, a good witness to history and comradeship.
In the first 6 months of 2024, despite many difficulties, the City Association and districts, towns and cities continue to carry out a special emulation movement to save money to build gratitude houses for former Youth Volunteers, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day and major holidays in 2024.
Initially, the first phase collected nearly 800 million VND from 24/30 Associations of Former Youth Volunteers in districts, towns and cities. The Association directly surveyed and checked 45 houses, made plans to build and repair houses for former Youth Volunteers in difficult circumstances; coordinated with the Hanoi Youth Union to organize support for 70 projects to renovate the household electrical system for 70 households of former Youth Volunteers.
Regarding the work of comradeship, the City Association and districts, towns have mobilized agencies, organizations, enterprises, philanthropists, and organizations to visit and give gifts to families of martyrs, war invalids, and families of youth volunteers in difficult circumstances; mobilized 4,963 gifts, worth more than 2.6 billion VND; mobilized support for the construction and repair of 10 houses of gratitude, with a total amount of more than 800 million VND; mobilized the donation of 172 savings books, with a total amount of nearly 300 million VND. At the same time, built a Fund of comradeship, with a total amount of more than 17 billion VND; organized medical examination and treatment, and provided free medicine to 2,272 members, with a value of nearly 1 billion VND...
Launching the emulation movement to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hanoi Association of Former Youth Volunteers, Chairman of the Hanoi Association of Former Youth Volunteers Nguyen Van Dinh called on all former Youth Volunteers of Hanoi to carry out two peak emulation stages, with the theme "Former Youth Volunteers of the Capital on the journey to follow Uncle Ho's teachings": stage 1, from July 15, 2024 to December 31, 2024; stage 2, from January 1, 2025 to July 15, 2025.
In particular, the grassroots associations launched a movement for each former Youth Volunteers member to save 1,000 VND/day, contributing to the "Comradely Love" fund, striving to help 100% of former Youth Volunteers' households in difficult circumstances to build and repair "Houses of Love" by April 30, 2025.
Along with that, develop collective, family and individual models that are good at doing business . Specifically, each district, town has at least one model of a former Youth Volunteers Cooperative or a cluster of former Youth Volunteers families helping each other do business, or a Club of former Youth Volunteers doing business well; organize to honor good Association Chairmen, exemplary heads of liaison committees, good people and good deeds, and generous sponsors who support and help the Association.
At the same time, develop honorary members, associate members, children, brothers, sisters, friends, classmates... to better educate on traditions, the role of historical witnesses and gratitude to generations of Vietnamese Youth Volunteers.
On this occasion, the Hanoi City Association of Former Youth Volunteers awarded 7 units with achievements in the emulation movement to save money and build houses of gratitude for former Youth Volunteers to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day.
