Responding to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21) and the direction of the Ministry's leaders on developing a reading culture among young civil servants, the Seminar included activities: "Book Review" and "Research Skills Training" Club activities, thereby opening up new directions for development in the learning, research and training movement of young civil servants and public employees.

Speaking at the seminar, Dr. Nguyen Dong Anh, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, affirmed that the attention, support and close direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' leaders in recent times have contributed to improving the quality of research activities of the Ministry's youth.
In the exciting atmosphere towards the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnamese Diplomatic Service, the Secretary of the Ministry's Youth Union emphasized: "This forum continues to be an initiative demonstrating the pioneering and creative role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' youth in building an environment for learning, research and academic exchange."
Accordingly, the Book Review Club promises to become a useful knowledge meeting place, creating motivation for the young generation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to continue to cultivate political mettle, professional skills and aspirations to contribute and serve the nation and people, towards an era of strong and prosperous development.

Sharing about the book "Ho Chi Minh's Diplomatic Thought" by former Foreign Minister Nguyen Dy Nien, Ms. Le Nhu Mai, working at the Institute for Strategic Studies of Diplomatic Affairs, Diplomatic Academy, commented that this is a systematic and profound research work on the thoughts, methods, style and diplomatic art of President Ho Chi Minh.
Through four chapters, the book clarifies five origins of Ho Chi Minh's diplomatic thought, including patriotism, national culture, Vietnamese diplomatic tradition, cultural quintessence and world diplomatic experience, and the methodology of Marxism-Leninism.
At the same time, the book systematizes eight core contents of Ho Chi Minh's diplomatic thought including: Basic national rights, national independence associated with socialism, independence and autonomy associated with international cooperation, combining national strength and the strength of the times, peace and anti-aggression war, friendship and cooperation with neighboring countries, relations with major countries, diplomacy as a front.
According to Ms. Le Nhu Mai, "Ho Chi Minh's diplomatic thought" not only has theoretical value but also high practical value, and is a classic reference document for generations of Vietnamese diplomatic officials.

After listening to the opinions, Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu welcomed and highly appreciated the delegates who showed the spirit of learning and studying while reading books. In particular, the Deputy Minister emphasized that reading books must go hand in hand with practice, combining theory and application in work and daily life.
Closing the discussion, the Permanent Deputy Minister hoped that civil servants, especially the young generation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, would actively practice reading skills, spend time every day reading, writing and exchanging knowledge.
According to the Deputy Minister, in addition to professional expertise, reading books and knowing how to internalize information are essential skills in the Industry, helping young Foreign Affairs officials master technology and information in today's AI context.
