Candidates can register to retake one IELTS skill from April 5, for about VND2.95 million, equal to more than 60% of the exam fee for all four skills.
IDP and the British Council announced today that registration for the IELTS One Skill Retake (OSR) feature has been opened. Candidates who want to improve their score will not need to retake the entire test.
According to IDP, the first round of testing will begin on April 15, and will then be flexible according to the needs of candidates. OSR will take place at Phan Boi Chau branch ( Hanoi ), Hai Ba Trung (HCMC) and the main campus in Da Nang. The British Council has not announced the testing schedule yet.
On April 3, the Ministry of Education and Training agreed to allow these two units to deploy the OSR feature. The Ministry requested BC and IDP to publicly and fully announce and coordinate in issuing certificates, ensuring that test scores show all 4 skills (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing).
Candidates can register for OSR once, within 60 days from the original exam date, provided they have completed the entire test and received the results. Currently, OSR is available in about 30 countries and territories, such as Australia, Cambodia, Canada, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Türkiye...
IELTS is an international English test, recognized by more than 12,000 organizations worldwide. In Vietnam, BC and IDP are two licensed organizations to organize this test. The most popular test is IELTS Academic, which costs nearly 4.7 million VND per session.
According to statistics from the organization that owns the test, the average IELTS score of Vietnamese people in 2022 is 6.2, ranked 23rd in the world.
