Spreading digital knowledge
As a public scientific unit under Hue University, the Institute of Digital Transformation and Learning Materials conducts research, training, and is also a center for digital innovation, connecting digital knowledge inside and outside the education sector. With the motto "digital transformation for the community", the Institute has deployed the program "Popularizing AI - Popularizing digital education" as a campaign, spreading widely in the community.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Tuan, Deputy Director of the Institute of Digital Transformation and Learning Materials - Hue University, said that in the program "Popularizing AI - Digital Education for All", the Institute is responsible for everything from document development, training organization, to direct teaching and supporting the community in applying AI according to the policy of "Hand-holding and showing how to do things". The Institute is also a pioneer in designing open learning models, interactive classrooms, digital libraries and learning support platforms using AI, thereby making technology more accessible, easy to understand and easy to use for everyone.
The Institute's popularization program does not stop at basic classes but is organized according to an open, hierarchical model. From popularizing general digital skills classes with knowledge about digital transformation, information technology, smartphone usage, access to public services, electronic payments, etc., to in-depth classes on AI applications in administration, education, agriculture and environment, and other specialized applications. The Institute also directly designs interactive digital learning models and builds free online open classes.
From inner-city wards to mountainous communes, many free training courses on "eliminating digital illiteracy" have been organized with the direct participation of staff, lecturers and students. In particular, recently, the Institute has coordinated to organize a digital skills dissemination class "Improving digital skills at work" for union officials, civil servants, public employees, teachers and workers in A Luoi 1 and A Luoi 4 communes, directly taught by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Tuan, Deputy Director of the Institute and a team of collaborators.
A representative of the A Luoi 1 commune leadership said that through the AI popularization training courses and digital literacy classes organized by the Institute of Digital Transformation and Learning Materials and related units, they have contributed to spreading technological thinking, helping people believe that AI is not a distant story, but a very common tool, serving life, work and study every day.
Along with imparting knowledge, the Institute also builds specialized support groups, models of "self-study AI at home", "application of AI in digital administration"... popularized online. The Institute also proactively cooperates with international technology units such as UFIN Group (a leading technology group in the fields of Web3, AI and blockchain) to support students in researching and developing AI tools. This is a direction that shows that the Institute not only popularizes technology but also invests in depth to form a generation of digital human resources with comprehensive capabilities.

Towards a comprehensive digital learning society
In the context of Hue City promoting a two-level local government, improving digital capacity for officials, civil servants and public employees has become urgent. Most administrative procedures are currently processed online, requiring officials to be proficient in digital tools and AI to increase processing speed and improve efficiency in serving the people.
To meet this need, the Institute has organized many specialized training courses to help staff apply AI in drafting, searching, synthesizing information, writing reports, analyzing data and digital communication. Early access to digital platforms helps staff shorten working time and improve professionalism in administrative management.
Not only stopping at the number of nearly 2,000 people, officials, lecturers, teachers, students and pupils accessing AI knowledge and tools through courses organized by the Institute, the program also created clear changes in awareness and digital skills in the community. The majority of students after participating in the training courses were more confident in using digital platforms, applying AI in work and daily life.
The Institute is also building an endogenous database, that is, digitizing learning and research resources from Hue University itself to enrich the digital learning ecosystem to serve learners, researchers and the community. At the same time, combining with existing AI models to form a digital library, a smart library, aiming to connect the endogenous digital data portal of Hue University and Hue city with national systems in the future.
With the support of units and localities, the movement "Popularizing AI - Digital literacy" will continue to spread, creating a strong wave of digital transformation, contributing to building a comprehensive, dynamic and sustainable digital society.
