Inspecting the response work for storm No. 10 at Radar Station 3511, Phong Quang Ward, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Hoang Hai Minh reminded the officers and soldiers of the station to strengthen coordination with local Party committees and authorities, prepare plans to respond to storm No. 10, and absolutely not be passive or surprised.

Based on the reality at Hai Nhuan Residential Group, Phong Quang Ward - where the coastline is often eroded when storms come, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Hoang Hai Minh especially reminded the local Party Committee and authorities to grasp the local situation to evacuate people living along the coast to high places, avoiding coastal erosion and rising water levels when heavy rains. In cases where people deliberately refuse to evacuate, they must be resolutely forced to do so, absolutely no one is allowed to stay in dangerous places when storms come.

Border guards help fishermen anchor their boats to avoid storms

The general spirit is to grasp the storm's developments; strictly implement the "4 on-the-spot" motto; in which, pay special attention to stockpiling food, provisions, and medicine to supply people when necessary; always make efforts to respond to storm No. 10, minimizing the damage caused by storms and rains.

Currently, the Coastal Border Guard Stations under the Border Guard Command have also mobilized officers and soldiers to the area to guide and help people anchor and secure their boats. The Defense Command of Region 3 - Phu Loc, Regiment 6 mobilized forces to support people in securing their roofs, and sent forces to localities to inspect locations at risk of landslides to prepare evacuation plans...

The units along the sea border have also organized storm warning flares, calling and guiding ships to anchor. Up to now, all 1,121 vehicles/8,073 workers in the area have entered safe shelter areas. Mobilizing officers and soldiers to coordinate with local authorities and people to reinforce and brace houses to ensure safety before storm No. 10 makes landfall.

Help border residents harvest rice during storms

On the land border, border guards have increased their forces to support people in harvesting summer-autumn rice; and coordinated with local authorities to review vulnerable points at risk of landslides and flash floods to have response plans.

The City Border Guard Command also maintains nearly 400 officers and soldiers along with 28 vehicles ready to handle any situation; directs units to regularly monitor the storm's developments closely, organize inspections and reviews of vulnerable areas at risk of landslides and flooding; coordinate with local authorities to develop response plans, and be ready to relocate and evacuate people from dangerous areas.

According to the plan of the City People's Committee, localities have reviewed and updated plans to relocate 10,132 households/32,697 people, concentrated in coastal areas, lagoons, and high-risk areas.

As of 3:00 p.m. this afternoon (September 27), Hue City is experiencing moderate to heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain.
