On the morning of June 5, a working delegation led by Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc inspected the organization of the 10th grade exam at a number of exam sites in Can Gio district.

Reporting to the working delegation at the Can Thanh Secondary School exam site (Can Thanh town, Can Gio), Ms. Vo Thi Diem Phuong, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Can Gio district, said that in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year, the district had 1,075 students graduating from grade 9, 969 students taking the 10th grade entrance exam, and 106 students wishing to study vocational training or continue their education at the Center for Continuing Education and Vocational Education.

According to the enrollment quota, An Nghia High School and Binh Khanh High School enroll 450 students/school; Can Thanh High School enrolls 405 students; Thanh An Secondary School and High School enrolls 45 students and Can Gio District Continuing Education and Vocational Training Center enrolls 50 students.

Can Gio district has arranged 2 exam sites for grade 10 including: Can Thanh Secondary School (14 exam rooms for 319 candidates), Binh Khanh Secondary School (Binh Khanh commune) with 32 exam rooms, including 27 official exam rooms for 649 students to take the exam. The district's exam and admission steering committee has issued a plan, assigning specific tasks to 150 officials, teachers and related units. “In addition to supporting the cost of train and bus tickets for 32 students from Thanh An island commune to go to the district center to attend the 10th grade exam, the district also arranged 3 rooms for accommodation and served 3 meals/day at Can Thanh 2 Primary School so that the students have good health and a comfortable spirit during the upcoming exam days,” said Ms. Vo Thi Diem Phuong.

Similarly, the preparation of facilities, security, and lunch rooms for students from 4 communes at the Binh Khanh Secondary School exam site was also carefully organized. Mr. Ngo Tan Hung, Head of the Binh Khanh Secondary School exam site, said that the exam site with students from Ly Nhon commune was the farthest (34km from the exam site), so a 45-seat bus was arranged to pick up and drop off the students to the exam site, with teachers accompanying them to ensure safety and encourage them to focus on the exam as best as possible.

Directly inspecting the preparation for the exam, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc commented that all locations, departments, and examination councils strictly followed the regulations; from the stage of exam supervision, hallway supervision to the registration numbering to ensure fairness, preventing cheating. He also acknowledged and highly appreciated the active participation of the Examination and Admissions Steering Committee of Can Gio district and the examination sites in the preparation for the exam and reminded the units to pay attention and create the best conditions for officers, teachers, and employees to perform their duties; ensuring the conditions of facilities according to the regulations.

We request that officers, teachers, and staff continue to uphold their sense of responsibility, creating a sense of security and comfort for candidates to take the test. Candidates must understand the regulations to strictly implement them and achieve high results. The testing sites regularly remind officers, teachers, staff, and candidates to strictly implement the testing regulations.

Regarding disease prevention, comrade Duong Anh Duc noted that, in addition to strictly following the instructions of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health , if candidates are found to have symptoms of cough or fever, teachers must pay attention to them, remind them to wear masks during the entire exam period and carry out disinfection seriously...

According to statistics from the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the whole city has more than 96,000 candidates participating in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year. The total enrollment target for public high schools is more than 77,000 students. The city organizes 158 entrance exam sites.
