Chemistry score distribution in 2025: Quite nice

On the afternoon of July 15, the Ministry of Education and Training announced that the score distribution of Chemistry in the 2025 High School Graduation Exam was quite good, with the highest score achieved by most candidates being 6.25. The announcement of the score distribution of subjects before announcing the exam scores to candidates was the first time the Ministry of Education and Training had done so.

625 candidates achieved 10 points in the 2025 Chemistry exam

The average score for Chemistry this year is 6.06 and nationwide there are 625 exams with a score of 10, no candidate got a score of 0 in this exam.

There were more than 70,000 exams with below average scores, accounting for 29.5%, higher than last year. Meanwhile, the number of exams with scores of 7 or higher accounted for nearly 34%.

In the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, nearly 247,000 candidates registered for Chemistry, of which nearly 242,000 candidates took the exam under the new general education program.

Unlike English and Math, the Chemistry exam in the recent exam was commented by candidates and teachers as not too difficult, many candidates were able to do well on the exam.

Chemistry teachers commented that the 2025 High School Graduation Exam followed the new direction in line with the 2018 General Education Program, designed to assess capacity, increase application and high application requirements, and ensure reasonable differentiation.

The test consists of 28 questions, including 3 parts: Multiple choice test (18 questions); True/false test (4 questions); Short answer test (6 questions). Candidates take the test in 50 minutes.

In addition to graduation exams, Chemistry is often combined with subjects such as Physics, Mathematics, Biology or English to form university entrance exam combinations. Common combinations include: A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry), B00 (Math, Chemistry, Biology)...

At 8:00 a.m. tomorrow (July 16), candidates nationwide will be announced the results of the 2025 High School Graduation Exam. After the exam results are available, if candidates still have concerns, they can submit a request for re-evaluation to be re-graded by the examiner. The deadline for receiving re-evaluation papers is 10 days from the date of announcement of exam scores.
