
As of September 29, Lam Dong province recorded 5,233 cases of dengue fever, with 90/892 active dengue fever outbreaks.
Under the management of the Cu Jut Regional Medical Center (CRMC), including 3 communes Nam Dong, Cu Jut, Dak Wil, there are currently 767 dengue fever cases and 13/43 active dengue fever outbreaks.
To control dengue fever in this area, Lam Dong CDC supported Cu Jut Regional Health Center to handle the first large-scale dengue fever outbreak in Nam Dong, Cu Jut, and Dak Wil communes from September 17-21.
After the first deployment, 4/15 outbreaks were recorded to have been handled and ended. The assessment results after the first spraying showed that dengue fever indicators were under control. However, 11/14 remaining outbreaks still recorded cases. In addition, 3 new outbreaks were recorded in Nam Dong and Cu Jut communes.

To continue to control and thoroughly handle dengue outbreaks operating in Nam Dong and Cu Jut communes, Lam Dong CDC is implementing the second large-scale dengue outbreak handling activities.

Master - Doctor Nguyen Ly Sac, Deputy Head of the Department of Prevention of Infectious Diseases - Parasites - Insects, CDC Lam Dong said: The purpose of the second intervention is to control and thoroughly handle dengue outbreaks at active outbreaks, not allowing the disease to continue to last and spread. Implement proactive epidemic prevention and control measures in areas surrounding the outbreak, lowering dengue indexes to safe levels. Ensure implementation of dengue prevention and control measures in accordance with procedures and regulations under the guidance of the Ministry of Health .

Lam Dong CDC (facility 2) has organized a team of large sprayers (3 barrels), each sprayer consists of 3 people (1 driver, 1 sprayer operator and 1 technical staff) to spray chemicals at households in the epidemic area and neighboring areas of 14 active epidemic areas in Nam Dong commune (1,768 households) and Cu Jut commune (1,037 households).

To ensure that chemical spraying is carried out within the optimal time prescribed by the Ministry of Health, the teams will spray from 6am to 9am and from 5pm to 8pm.

In addition, the Cu Jut Regional Health Center and the Nam Dong and Cu Jut Commune Health Stations deployed shoulder-mounted sprayers and arranged staff to supervise and instruct on spraying techniques. Arranged a media vehicle to go ahead of the large chemical sprayer mounted on a car to inform about dengue fever prevention measures.

Following the large-scale chemical spraying activity, the investigation and evaluation of dengue fever indexes after the second spraying was led by Lam Dong CDC (facility 2) in coordination with Cu Jut Regional Health Center.
