Care and support for members and poor women

Promoting the spirit of mutual love, in recent years, the Women's Union at all levels of Phu Ninh district has actively promoted activities and mobilized resources to take good care of the material and spiritual life of members and women, especially members and women in difficult circumstances, actively contributing to social security work in the area.

Thanks to the Women's Union's loan support, Trinh Thi Ninh's family has invested in expanding the grapefruit growing area, earning over 100 million VND per year.

The District Women's Union currently has over 20,000 members. In order to effectively support members, poor women, and women in difficult circumstances, the District Women's Union has directed the Union's branches to review and grasp the number of poor women, single women, and poor households headed by women in the area; regularly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of members to promptly provide appropriate assistance and support measures. For members, women who are still able to work and want to develop the economy , the Union creates conditions for members to access preferential loans, support livelihoods in forms such as capital support, plants, and seeds to develop production, mobilize women's savings groups to lend at low interest rates or no interest...

As one of the members who received favorable conditions from the Women's Union at all levels to access loans from the Social Policy Bank, Ms. Trinh Thi Ninh, Zone 9, Phu Loc Commune, was able to borrow 20 million VND to grow grapefruit. Ms. Ninh said: "With the support of the Commune Women's Union, my family has had more capital to invest, expand the area, and plant more than 300 grapefruit trees, earning about 100 million VND each year. Thanks to that, the family's economy has gradually improved, and the quality of life has been increasingly enhanced."

Currently, the District Women's Union is well managing capital from the Social Policy Bank with a total outstanding loan of over 98 billion VND for 2,138 households; the fund to support poor women in Phu Ninh commune with an outstanding loan of over 1.2 billion VND for 123 households to borrow for economic development; the TYM fund with an outstanding loan of over 15 billion VND for 1,275 households to borrow to develop livestock, service business, and increase family income...

Not only paying attention to supporting members and women in economic development, the work of caring for the lives, health and spirit of members is also focused on by the Women's Union at all levels in the district. In order to create conditions for members and women with difficult housing circumstances to build solid homes, the District Women's Union has directed the Union bases to actively and effectively implement the Campaign to build "Homes of Love" for poor women, women with disabilities, single women, and women in especially difficult circumstances.

Typically, the family of member Nghiem Thi Tinh in Tram Than commune has a particularly difficult situation. Her family's previous house has deteriorated. Her husband died early, leaving her alone to raise two children, so life is very difficult. In 2016, understanding the family's situation and wishes, the district Women's Union at all levels supported 30 million VND from the "Shelter of Love" fund to build a new house. From 2020 to now, the district Women's Union has mobilized support to build and repair 7 "Shelters of Love" with a total amount of more than 270 million VND.

By implementing practical and meaningful activities, supporting women, especially members and women in difficult circumstances, the Women's Union at all levels of Phu Ninh district has demonstrated the role of the Union and each female cadre and member in joining hands to help vulnerable groups in society. From there, helping members and women to stabilize their lives, work and produce with peace of mind.
