Quang Ninh: Processing and manufacturing industry continues to affirm its leading role in the economy

Quang Ninh has identified the processing and manufacturing industry as an important sector, one of the three main pillars of the industrial sector, and as a driving force for the province's economic development.

According to the socio-economic results report of Quang Ninh , in August 2025, the industrial production index (IIP) increased by 20.47% over the same period in 2024, with a cumulative increase of 15.6% in the first 8 months. In particular, the manufacturing and processing industry continued to maintain its key role in economic growth, increasing by 33.9% in August. 10/14 basic products achieved and exceeded the 9-month plan.

The service - tourism sector continues to grow steadily, basically achieving and exceeding the growth scenario. In the first 8 months of 2025, the total number of tourists reached 16.2 million, up 10% over the same period in 2024, of which international visitors reached 2.94 million, up 23% over the same period. Tourism revenue reached 41,380 billion VND, a high increase over the same period (over 20%).

Export turnover of enterprises in the province reached 2,642 million USD, up 15.1% over the same period. Total state budget revenue reached 47,093 billion VND, equal to 111% of the 9-month scenario, of which domestic revenue reached 35,476 billion VND, equal to 121% of the 9-month scenario.

After 2 months of implementing the 2-level government model with the whole country, localities in Quang Ninh province have proactively and urgently reorganized and consolidated their apparatus to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the new model. Up to now, The whole province has completed the issuance of projects and decisions on organization and staffing, established 164 new specialized departments in 54 communes, wards, and special zones; arranged about 21,000 cadres, civil servants, and public employees to work positions.

The province has also handled and arranged 1,732 headquarters, retained 1,412 facilities, arranged 320 surplus facilities, and completed the allocation of budget estimates to 54 communes, wards, and special zones, ensuring full payment of salaries, allowances, and policies for officials and beneficiaries.

Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee held a regular meeting in August to evaluate the results of implementing socio-economic development tasks in August and the first 8 months of 2025.

The Public Administration Service Center system from the province to the grassroots level has received 83,767 administrative procedure files in 2 months, the rate of processing files on time and before the deadline is high; online submission files reached over 75%, almost all files were digitized, fees and charges were collected completely through non-cash methods, contributing to shortening time, reducing costs, creating clear convenience for people and businesses.

Speaking at the regular meeting in August, Mr. Pham Duc An, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, acknowledged the working spirit, efforts and endeavors of units and localities that have ensured the completion of goals and plans in socio-economic development.

To complete the socio-economic development tasks of Quang Ninh in the remaining months of 2025, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province suggested that it is necessary to closely follow the socio-economic development goals and targets, effectively implementing the working theme of the year "Breakthrough in economic development, creating momentum for the new term". Ensure the progress of completing the economic growth target; continue to effectively implement the action programs of the Provincial Party Committee on implementing the resolutions of the Politburo, especially the four pillar resolutions identified as the driving force to move the country forward in the new era.
