Authorities were present at Thuy Tien beach early in the morning to carry out their duties. Although it was not yet 7am, the beach was already bustling with market gatherings and seafood processing right at the water’s edge.

Seafood is not only brought up from basket boats but also transported from other places. Many temporary tents have been set up to process and serve food on the spot to tourists. Authorities have asked people to stop trading, move goods away from the beach area, and dismantle all tents.

Vice Chairman of Rach Dua Ward People's Committee Nguyen Huu Nam said that the peak period of order rectification aims to ensure environmental hygiene and safety for residents and tourists, building the image of Rach Dua Ward - Ho Chi Minh City as "green, clean, beautiful".

“From today, the ward will arrange a force of about 20 people, divided into 2 shifts in the morning and afternoon to regularly check and monitor. In the future, we will put up notice boards prohibiting trading and market meetings and advise tourists not to buy seafood in the area and not to eat pre-processed seafood at the beach,” added Vice Chairman of Rach Dua Ward People’s Committee Nguyen Huu Nam.

For fishing vessels that regularly gather seafood in this area, Rach Dua ward will guide them to move to a suitable and regulated place; strictly control and trace the origin to gradually prevent the transportation of seafood from other places here for trading.
