Review and evaluate the implementation of criteria on safe homes for children

The National Committee for Children has just sent an official dispatch to the Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Public Security , Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Information and Communications; central agencies of mass organizations and People's Committees of provinces and cities on ensuring a safe living environment, preventing accidents and injuries for children.

Children who were victims of the fire are being cared for and treated at Bach Mai Hospital.

In the document, the National Committee for Children stated: recently there was a fire on Khuong Ha street causing serious consequences with a large number of casualties, including many children.

Faced with the above situation, the National Committee for Children requests ministries, branches, organizations, and People's Committees of provinces and cities to pay attention to and direct the implementation of measures to prevent and combat child accidents and injuries, especially those caused by fire, explosion, drowning, and traffic.

Accordingly, the National Committee for Children proposed to effectively implement Decision No. 1248/QD-TTg and the Prime Minister 's telegram on preventing child accidents and injuries; develop and allocate resources, strictly implement the Prime Minister's solutions and requirements on creating a safe environment and minimizing child accidents and injuries in the locality.

Inspect, examine, strictly and promptly handle violations in accident and injury prevention, especially accidents and injuries to children due to fire, explosion, drowning, and traffic.

Agencies and localities conduct reviews and assessments of the implementation of criteria on safe homes, safe communities, and safe schools to ensure a safe living environment for children.

Agencies strengthen communication, education of knowledge and skills for parents, families and communities on creating a safe living environment, preventing accidents and injuries to children. Commend and promote typical examples of individuals, organizations, agencies and authorities who effectively implement the work of preventing and combating accidents and injuries to children.

Ministries and sectors strengthen inter-sectoral coordination in directing and implementing work to prevent and combat accidents and injuries to children; mobilize the participation of mass organizations and people in detecting, monitoring, reinforcing, renovating and repairing works and locations at risk of causing accidents and injuries to children.

Ministries, branches, organizations and localities synthesize and report the results of reviews, inspections and examinations on the responsibilities of agencies, organizations, schools and individuals in building safe living environments, preventing and combating accidents and injuries to children in the 2023 report on the results of children's work to report to the Prime Minister and the National Committee for Children.

According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, as of September 14, there were 29 students who were victims of the mini apartment fire in Khuong Ha. The Hanoi Department of Education has launched a campaign to provide material and spiritual support to the victims and their families.
