Review and handle 3 types of fake traditional medicine

The Department of Health has just sent an official dispatch to medical examination and treatment facilities and pharmaceutical businesses in the province to strengthen the handling of 3 types of fake drugs produced by Chanh Dai Traditional Medicine Production Facility located in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the Department of Health, from May 27 to 28, 2025, the Department of Traditional Medicine Management, Ministry of Health , conducted an inspection and made a working record at Phung Hung Traditional Medicine Store (address: 492 Tran Hung Dao, Ward 14, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City) and discovered 3 drugs: Su Tong massage oil, registration number V367-H12-10; Chanh Dai rheumatism oil, registration number V1624-H12-10; Chanh Dai rheumatism oil, registration number V131-H12-10 produced by Chanh Dai Traditional Medicine Production Facility (address: 295 Nguyen Trai, Ward 7, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City).

Through verification, Chanh Dai Traditional Medicine Production Facility has not been granted a Certificate of Eligibility for Pharmaceutical Business by the Ministry of Health and has not been granted a Certificate of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) for the production of medicinal herbs and traditional medicines.

Chanh Dai rheumatism oil, registration number V1624-H12-10 is a fake drug.

Pursuant to the provisions of Clause 33, Article 2 of the Law on Pharmacy, the three drugs: Su Tong massage oil, registration number V367-H12-10; Chanh Dai rheumatism oil, registration number V1624-H12-10; Chanh Dai rheumatism oil, registration number V131-H12-10 produced by the Chanh Dai Traditional Medicine Production Facility mentioned above are counterfeit drugs.

To ensure the safety of users, the Department of Health requests medical examination and treatment facilities not to use the 3 drugs with the above information, and promptly notify relevant authorities. Pharmaceutical businesses in the province are not allowed to trade or distribute the above drugs in accordance with current regulations.
