Fire fighting plan practice at Ea Kao Ward People's Committee headquarters

On the morning of October 4, at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Ea Kao Ward, the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Area No. 1 - Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department (PCCC) and CNCH, Dak Lak Provincial Police coordinated with the People's Committee of Ea Kao Ward to organize a conference to respond to "National Fire Prevention and Fighting Day" on October 4, combined with practicing fire fighting plans at the agency.

The conference was attended by all officers and civil servants of the Ward People's Committee, police force, security and order protection team and grassroots fire prevention and fighting teams.

At the conference, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Luyen, Deputy Captain of Fire Fighting and Rescue Team No. 1, disseminated new and key points of the 2024 Law on Fire Prevention and Rescue and Decree No. 105/2025/ND-CP of the Government . In particular, he emphasized the role and responsibility of the People's Committees at the commune and ward levels in state management of fire prevention and rescue work; at the same time, he noted the requirement to strengthen the capacity of grassroots fire prevention and rescue forces.

Along with that, cadres, civil servants and public employees are also equipped with basic knowledge and skills in handling fire and explosion situations; how to use fire extinguishers, safe escape skills and methods of propaganda to the community.

Immediately after the conference, the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Area No. 1 organized a fire fighting plan practice at the People's Committee of Ea Kao Ward. The hypothetical situation was that at about 9:00 a.m. the same day, a fire broke out in the meeting room on the 2nd floor of the People's Committee headquarters due to an electrical short circuit.

Upon detecting the incident, the local fire prevention force quickly cut off the power to the entire area, alerted and mobilized on-site forces and vehicles to participate in fire fighting, rescuing people and property; and at the same time contacted support from professional forces via phone number 114.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Area No. 1 immediately dispatched nearly 20 officers and soldiers along with 2 specialized fire trucks to the scene. The force quickly deployed fire fighting formations, used gas masks, organized rescue, and brought the trapped victims out to safety. After about 30 minutes, the simulated fire was controlled and completely extinguished, ensuring safety for people and limiting property damage.

The exercise was highly appreciated for its careful preparation, smooth coordination between forces and sense of responsibility of participating officers, civil servants and public employees. Thereby, the situation handling skills of the local forces were significantly improved, while enhancing the coordination ability between grassroots forces and professional forces in emergency situations.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Luyen said that in the coming time, the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Area No. 1 will continue to coordinate with functional departments and police of communes and wards to organize more training courses and specialized drills. The goal is to effectively promote the "4 on-site" motto, improve self-prevention and self-rescue capacity, and be ready to respond to all fire and explosion incidents, contributing to ensuring the safety of life and property for people and the community in the area.
