Dong Nai province delegation visited and wished longevity to the elderly

(DN) - On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons (October 1), the provincial delegation led by Ms. Pham Thi Mai Huong, Deputy Director of the Department of Health of Dong Nai province, visited, presented gifts and wished longevity to outstanding centenarians in 23 communes and wards in the northern region of Dong Nai province.

At the places visited, the delegation kindly inquired about the health and spiritual life of the elderly and acknowledged the contributions of the elderly in the construction and development of the homeland. The delegation sent their best wishes for longevity, wishing them a happy and healthy life, continuing to be a shining example for their children and grandchildren to follow.

On this occasion, the delegation presented 41 gifts from the President including: Longevity greeting cards, 5 meters of silk fabric, gifts and 1 million VND in cash; 41 gifts from the province, which are golden plaques with the inscription: "Happiness like the East Sea, Longevity like the South Mountain" to 41 typical centenarians in 23 communes and wards in the northern region of Dong Nai province.

Visiting and wishing longevity on the International Day of Older Persons not only demonstrates the nation's tradition of "Respect the elderly and wish them a long life", but also contributes to raising awareness of the whole society in caring for and promoting the role of the elderly in the new era.
