
According to Hanoi City Statistics, industrial production activities in Hanoi have grown positively. The Industrial Production Index (IIP) in the third quarter was higher than the previous quarter and higher than the same period last year. In the first 9 months of this year, the Industrial Production Index increased by 6.7%, all production indexes were quite good, with many bright spots in the processing and manufacturing industry.
Some processing and manufacturing industries have increased IIP index compared to the same period last year such as: Production of motor vehicles increased by 18.3%; production of leather and leather products increased by 12.4%; production of non-metallic mineral products increased by 11%; production of clothing increased by 9.8%; production of metal increased by 9.3%; production of beverages increased by 9.1%; production of electronic products and computers increased by 8.9%; production of chemicals and chemical products increased by 8.8%; production of textile products increased by 8.5%...
According to Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Kieu Oanh, recently, the city has implemented many solutions on policy mechanisms, access to loans, and created favorable conditions in the business environment, thereby increasing product consumption index and significantly reducing inventory index.
Specifically, the consumption index of products of the entire processing and manufacturing industry in the past 9 months increased by 1.5% over the same period. The inventory index of the processing and manufacturing industry is estimated to decrease by 37.7% at the end of September 2025 compared to the end of September 2024, in which some industries have a sharp decrease in inventory index compared to the same period such as: Rubber and plastic production decreased by 64%; motor vehicle production decreased by 56.6%; printing and copying of records decreased by 51.5%; production of other means of transport decreased by 39.6%; production of chemicals and chemical products decreased by 36.9%; production of paper and paper products decreased by 34.7%; production of drugs, pharmaceuticals and medicinal materials decreased by 28.4%; production of garments decreased by 26%.
Notably, the number of workers in industrial enterprises at the end of September 2025 increased by 0.5% compared to the end of the previous month and decreased by 1% compared to the same period last year. In the first 9 months of this year, the labor utilization index of industrial enterprises decreased by 0.5% compared to the same period last year.
