Sharing about the novelty of the scientific project "jMap Map System", MSc. Dang Minh Tan, Project Manager, said that the jMap Map System is a type of website that specializes in posting maps in webgis format, using data technology in GeoJSON format to display maps on the web platform with the purpose of overcoming software copyright and investing in information technology infrastructure. GeoJSON is a type of geographic data structure, based on JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) widely used by the community. The biggest difference of jMap is the use of GeoJSON geographic data structure to store data and display many different types of maps, such as planning maps, current status, cadastral, thematic maps... neatly and flexibly, helping users easily access necessary map information.
Thanks to that convenience, the jMap Map System can serve many different subjects and purposes such as state management needs, helping to look up cadastral information, current status, land use planning of state management agencies, for reference, to make administrative decisions; or the needs of companies and enterprises such as planning, land use planning, compensation clearance, connection, comparison of implemented project works. The system also meets the social needs of looking up land information for real estate investment, serving the need to access information for people.
“After the implementation process, the system has been registered by many organizations and individuals to use to solve tasks such as looking up cadastral maps, planning maps, mineral and forestry maps, calculating areas, converting VN2000 coordinates, and locating locations. In particular, only a smartphone or computer with internet connection is needed to solve the work. Deploying this system will save on software copyright costs and investment in information technology infrastructure, and facilitate data dispersion to build and integrate data into the system,” said Mr. Tan.
According to Mr. Tan, the jMap mapping system has a convenient data system for sharing to carry out business projects, other personal needs when looking up data, serving the access to information for people according to the law. The system also creates conditions for organizations and individuals to have access to information in many fields according to citizens' right to access information, thereby helping to promote administrative procedure reform and application of information technology, improve the quality and efficiency of administrative reform to serve the goal of socio-economic development, gradually replace manual public listing forms, save costs and travel time of people.
From effective practical applications, the scientific work "jMap Map System" by Master Dang Minh Tan won the Second Prize of the 16th National Technical Innovation Contest in 2020-2021 organized by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations; Second Prize of the 12th Binh Dinh Provincial Technical Innovation Contest in 2020-2021 organized by the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province. The jMap map system was also honored in the list of scientific and technological works and solutions of the Vietnam Golden Book of Creativity in 2023.
