About to reach 700 billion VND, Red Rain sets release date

As of 11:30 a.m. on September 25, the movie Red Rain was only 600 million VND short of reaching the 700 billion VND milestone – an unprecedented record for Vietnamese cinema.

According to the independent box office website Box Office Vietnam (with a certain margin of error), the film has currently earned VND699,363,325,241. Although the revenue growth rate has slowed down significantly, the film is almost certain to reach the VND700 billion mark on September 25.

On September 25 alone, the film still maintained the number 2 position on the Vietnamese box office revenue chart, just behind the film Death Battle in the Sky , and surpassing newly released films such as Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Chapter Reze, BTS 2016 Live The Most Beautiful Moment In Life On Stage: Epilogue Remastered, The Conjuring: Last Rites .

According to incomplete statistics, since the beginning of the year, a total of more than 30 Vietnamese films have been released, with a total revenue of more than 3,100 billion VND, higher than the record of 1,900 billion VND in 2024. That means, with the revenue of 700 billion VND of Red Rain , it has accounted for more than 20% of the total revenue of Vietnamese films in the whole market this year.

Immediately after the above remarkable feat, director Dang Thai Huyen also announced on his personal page that from September 29, Red Rain will officially end its theatrical run to carry out its next missions.

The female director sends her gratitude to all the audiences, press agencies, distributors, theaters... who have accompanied Red Rain throughout this wonderful journey.

In addition to the sales record of Red Rain , the film market in 2025 also set countless other records such as: the most popular Vietnamese horror film ( Ghost in the Palace , 149 billion VND), the most popular war film and the most popular Vietnamese film of all time ( Red Rain ), the most popular Vietnamese animated film ( Cricket: Adventure to the Swamp , 21 billion VND), the most popular documentary ( Anh trai "say hi": The Villain Creates a Hero , 15 billion VND), the most popular short film ( Dan ca go , over 4 billion VND)...

With the current growth rate, Sky Deathmatch is likely to become the most popular Vietnamese action film. Also on September 25, Getting Rich with Ghosts: Diamond War is also approaching the 100 billion VND mark, becoming the 11th Vietnamese film to reach this record in 2025. The film currently has a revenue of 99,953,002,720 VND.
