When worries turn into creative ideas

Tran Le Quang An, leader of the NFT group, a student at the University of Economics and Law, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (UEL), shared that the comprehensive financial education connection platform "Accompanying today - supporting tomorrow" named HYHAN comes from the concerns of the group of young people.

Quang An said the idea arose from the worrying reality that many talented students in Vietnam are facing major financial and information barriers, limiting their access to higher education and development opportunities.

"They are not poor households, but their family income is not enough to cover tuition fees and living expenses. However, current support programs are limited and procedures are complicated, often requiring poor or near-poor households, making it difficult for these cases to access capital and scholarships," said Quang An.

Meanwhile, the job and education markets are fragmented, making it difficult for both students and businesses to connect.

HYHAN was born as a bridge, connecting three parties: students in need of support, businesses wanting to invest in human resources and educational institutions. This platform not only provides loan and scholarship packages but also aims at a comprehensive ecosystem.

The project has a three-phase roadmap: building the Eduscore system (phase 1), developing an education loan model (phase 2) and implementing breakthrough solutions such as ISA (phase 3).

Criteria-based scoring software, aiming for fairness

What sets this software apart from traditional models is its proprietary grading system. Instead of relying solely on grades or administrative documents, the system evaluates students based on more comprehensive criteria, including academic scores, economic circumstances, and extracurricular activities.

The project is a comprehensive ecosystem that integrates all three elements: education, finance and technology.

"We want to ensure that the support reaches the people who need it most, based on more objective and fair criteria," Quang An affirmed.

The project also introduces innovative financial models such as Income Share Agreement (ISA). With ISA, students can borrow money for their studies and only repay it when they have a job and a stable income.

This helps to reduce the financial burden immediately, while motivating students to strive. The platform also uses Crowdfunding to mobilize capital from the community, creating a sustainable source of funds.

With bright spots, the project won second prize at the ATTACKER 2025 academic competition, a competition on startup - technology - economic ideas with the participation of 2,000 students from 54 participating universities.

The project was highly appreciated for its innovative approach, using technology to solve financial and information problems, helping students overcome barriers to accessing education.

Sharing at the award ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Cong Gia Khanh, Principal of the University of Economics and Law, sent a meaningful message to the students: “Winning or losing is not the end, not the final goal, the most important thing is the long-term race of 5 years, 10 years and the whole journey after that. I believe that all the students participating in the competition are winners”.

Tran Le Quang An said the project has undergone 4 months of development and testing, demonstrating high feasibility. The startup cost for the MVP (minimum viable product) version in the first 3-6 months is estimated at 400-600 million VND.

The student group hopes that after the competition they will receive support from investors and experts to develop the project into a real project, bringing value to the community.
