Number of dengue fever and hand, foot and mouth disease cases decreased

(DN) - On September 7, information from the Dong Nai Department of Health said that in the 36th week, the number of cases of dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, and whooping cough in the province decreased compared to the previous week.

Specifically, 893 cases of dengue fever were recorded (down 153 cases); 146 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease (down 21 cases); no cases of whooping cough were recorded (down 3 cases). Meanwhile, the number of measles cases was the same as last week at 10 cases; 3 new rabies outbreaks were recorded in dogs (up 3 cases).

Accumulated from the beginning of 2025 to now, Dong Nai province has recorded more than 13,700 cases of dengue fever, more than 5,600 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease and more than 7,300 cases of measles.

To prevent the spread of dengue fever, last week, the Dong Nai Provincial Center for Disease Control provided Cloramin B chemicals to the Vinh Cuu Regional Medical Center. Deployed the second large-scale spraying of mosquito-killing chemicals in Suoi Quyt Hamlet, Xuan Duong Commune, Dong Nai Province. At the same time, monitor the situation of infectious diseases and supervise the handling of outbreaks in the areas. Strengthen communication activities so that people understand the danger level of dengue fever in particular and other infectious diseases in general to proactively prevent the disease.

In addition, a part of the population is still subjective in the prevention and control of dengue fever, leading to a very high risk of dengue fever outbreaks in localities.
