Reflecting to VTC News reporter about the shortage of rechargeable fans for the past few days, Ms. Hoang Thanh Mai (Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi ) said that right after suffering from a power outage for many hours during the weekend, she took the opportunity to look for a rechargeable fan, but after going to a round of home electrical appliance stores and electronics supermarkets around her living area, they all ran out of this item.

“Last Sunday (June 4), I went to many home appliance retail stores, even to Dien May Xanh supermarket on Minh Khai street to buy rechargeable fans, but they were all "sold out" and nowhere was there any left. When asked when the goods would be imported, they all did not know exactly and did not set a date," said Ms. Mai.

Ms. Mai then had to go to online markets to buy but still had no results. Some places sold unsatisfactory products, some only advertised the products and only promised to call back when they were in stock.

A person who specializes in importing Chinese goods from the Lang Son border also informed Ms. Mai that the source of goods is still "burning" at the source because of the sudden increase in demand. " At least a few more days until I have a container, then I will know if there are rechargeable fans or not ," said a person who specializes in selling household electrical appliances on Facebook.

Similarly, Mr. Thanh An (Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi) could not easily buy a rechargeable fan. He went to the online market to buy and had to wait a week to receive the product.

“I went to all the stores but couldn’t buy it, so I had to look for it online, even though I knew it would be difficult to find quality products online. Then I ordered a rechargeable fan for 1.4 million VND. I deposited 700,000 VND and was told that the product would arrive in 7 days,” said Mr. An.

At around 10am on June 5, VTC News reporters contacted several rechargeable fan sellers on Facebook by phone and received the answer that the rechargeable fan was out of stock. Currently, it is only possible to pre-order, the seller will receive the order and notify when the goods arrive. The time to receive the goods is about 5-7 days, the seller promised.

Nowadays, more and more people living in Hanoi want to buy rechargeable fans because they are worried that the alternating power cuts during hot weather will make them unbearable. Especially at night, when there is a power outage and the air conditioner cannot be turned on, rechargeable fans are a temporary solution to solve the need for cooling.

Meanwhile, many owners of household electrical appliances stores all agree that rechargeable fans are the product that customers are most interested in today. Since the second half of May, when there was information warning of a risk of power shortage in the North, the number of customers asking to buy this product has begun to skyrocket. And in the past two weeks, when many areas suddenly had power outages, the number of buyers has increased even more.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan, owner of an electric fan store on Nguyen Luong Bang Street (Dong Da District), said that this year, many families are worried about power shortages and power cuts at any time, so almost every day the store receives calls asking about rechargeable fans, but because they are out of stock, he has to ask customers to wait for more goods to be imported before selling them.

Many posts selling rechargeable fans continuously appear on social networks, however, they are all in "accepting orders" status, with no immediate delivery available. (Screenshot)

Rechargeable fans are also a hot-selling product at electronics supermarkets. A supermarket employee said that the best-selling rechargeable fan here is the Kangaroo fan, made in China, using Japanese components. The selling price of this product, depending on the type, is 1.8 million VND/unit and 2.7 million VND/unit.

The fan has 3 wind modes, with the lowest wind mode being able to be used for 8 hours, and if turned on the strongest wind level it can be used for about 4-5 hours. According to the shop owners, this product line does not have many models because there are few manufacturers. Rechargeable fans are mostly manufactured and assembled in China and carry Vietnamese brands such as Kangaroo, Sunhouse...

However, these products are all "out of stock" and will take many days to import.
