Summary of 2 years of implementing the model of preventing child marriage and incestuous marriage in Pa Cheo commune

On June 1, the Fatherland Front Committee of Bat Xat district coordinated with Pa Cheo commune to summarize 2 years of implementing the model "Preventing child marriage and incestuous marriage"; and launched the model "Improving bad customs in funerals".

Implementing the model of "Preventing child marriage and incestuous marriage" in the period of 2021 - 2024, the Party Committee of Pa Cheo commune has directed sectors and organizations to promote coordination with district-level professional sectors and innovate propaganda forms.

Up to now, the commitment signing has been implemented in 5/5 villages with more than 540 households participating; 2 models on preventing child marriage at the village level have been built.

Through evaluation, the model has helped raise awareness and responsibility of cadres, party members, people, especially ethnic minority women in preventing and reducing early marriage and incestuous marriage.

Delegates gave comments on the model implementation at the grassroots level.

At the conference, the model of "Reforming bad funeral customs" in Pa Cheo commune, phase 2023 - 2024, was launched with the following contents: Reducing costly and wasteful procedures; not organizing long funerals; not organizing "sunlit" ceremonies...

At the same time, conference delegates were informed about: abandoning the custom of wife-baiting; not demanding high dowry; not letting children marry early; not letting children of the same bloodline marry each other...

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Pa Cheo commune organized a signing ceremony of a commitment with the Party cell secretary, village chief, village elders, clan leaders, and prestigious people to implement the model (photo above).
