Summary of 5 years of implementing Decree No. 21 of the Government on defense zones

On the morning of July 8, the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Defense Zone Steering Committee held a conference to review 5 years of implementing Decree No. 21 of the Government on defense zones. Attending the conference were comrade Le Van Dung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation - Head of the Provincial Defense Zone Steering Committee and representatives of leaders of departments, branches and localities.

Conference to review 5 years of implementing Decree No. 21 of the Government on defense zones

The report at the conference said that in the context of the complicated and unpredictable developments in the world and the region, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee have led, directed, thoroughly grasped and promptly concretized Decree No. 21 of the Government to build a solid defense zone in the province.

Comrade Le Van Dung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the conference.

In the country and in the Military Region 5 in general, and Quang Nam province in particular, the socio-economic situation continues to develop, national defense and security are maintained. The potentials in the defense area are invested in and built; the national defense is linked with the people's security and the national border defense is gradually deepened.

The work of building the reserve mobilization force ensures quantity and quality with about 170,900 reserve soldiers. The whole province focuses on building the militia and self-defense force according to the motto "strong and widespread" with over 22,200 comrades, reaching 1.24% of the population.

The quality of defense area drills has been increasingly improved. From 2019 to now, defense and security knowledge has been trained for over 8,800 comrades, 228 religious dignitaries; defense and security knowledge has been popularized for 357,000 students.

Over the past 5 years, 455 collectives and nearly 2,950 individuals have been commended by the Party, the State, and the Provincial People's Committee for performing national defense tasks and ensuring security and order.
