Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction urges 125/168 wards and communes to report on management and operation of apartment buildings.

Wards, communes, and special economic zones that are slow to report on the implementation of rectification of management and operation of apartment buildings may be reported to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for consideration of responsibility.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction has just issued a document (for the second time) requesting localities to strengthen inspection and rectify the management and operation of apartment buildings, ensuring fire prevention and fighting safety.

Accordingly, on July 14, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued an official dispatch requesting the Chairmen of the People's Committees of wards, communes, and special zones to coordinate with the fire prevention and fighting, rescue police force, and related units to conduct inspections and strictly handle violations in apartment buildings and constructions that do not ensure safety conditions for fire prevention and fighting, rescue, and rescue according to the guidance of the Department of Construction and regulations.

Mobilize, propagate, and guide residents, management boards, and operational management units to voluntarily dismantle illegal items and constructions, encroachments, and obstructions to emergency exits, causing unsafe fire prevention, rescue, and urban aesthetics, and request immediate correction and repair of existing shortcomings and limitations.

To implement the above direction, on September 3, the Department of Construction issued an official dispatch requesting the Chairmen of the People's Committees of wards, communes, and special zones to implement and report to the Department to synthesize and report to the City People's Committee before September 10, 2025.

However, by October 14, the Department of Construction had only received reports from 43/168 wards, communes, and special zones.

The Department of Construction requested the Chairmen of the People's Committees of wards, communes, and special zones that have not yet sent a report to urgently implement the direction of the City People's Committee and send a report of the results to the Department before October 24, 2025 for synthesis and reporting to the City People's Committee.

After the above time, the Department of Construction will report to the City People's Committee to consider responsibility and handle according to regulations for localities that are late in reporting results, affecting the progress of implementing the direction of the City People's Committee.
