Connecting industry value chains

The synergy between Lam Dong’s economic zones brings many practical benefits. First, sharing resources and experiences between regions helps optimize production processes. For example, agricultural products from Thuan Hanh, Tanh Linh, Ham Thuan Bac communes can be processed in Duc Trong commune, creating products with high added value. Furthermore, linking economic zones will create concentrated agricultural commodity production areas, supplying raw materials for processing. From there, it will help increase market access for neighboring agricultural production areas.

Mr. Nguyen Van Y - member of Binh Tien Cooperative, Duc An commune said: "The production linkage between economic zones in Lam Dong province is no longer an obstacle. Companies and cooperatives in Don Duong and Duc Trong have strengths in capital, high technology, and processing, and can easily link to transfer technology and purchase products in remote communes and border areas."

The neighboring communes with large land funds will also cooperate to build raw material areas and produce standard products. From that resonance, Lam Dong's agricultural products can be promoted and consumed more widely when introduced in a uniform and professional manner, from production to marketing.

According to Mr. Le Binh Minh - Deputy Director of Lam Dong Department of Finance, in the face of opportunities and motivations to promote the value chain of industries, Lam Dong province continues to restructure the agricultural sector associated with innovation of the growth model. That is to develop a highly efficient, ecological, organic, large-scale agricultural economy with high added value. In particular, Lam Dong pays special attention to supporting localities in building specialized areas and adapting to climate change, strongly applying technology, innovation and digital transformation to create breakthroughs in productivity, quality and high competitiveness.

Create momentum from resonance

Lam Dong currently has many opportunities to re-establish its economic development strategy based on connectivity and complementarity between regions. At the same time, the province will focus on building a linkage of the agricultural - industrial - service value chain to promote the total strength of the local economy.

In terms of potential, Lam Dong province has advantages in developing eco-tourism, high-end resorts, sea and island tourism, agriculture and indigenous communities, with the Da Lat - Phan Thiet - Ta Dung tourism cluster as a strategic axis. The province's location also helps connect tourism products from Ho Chi Minh City to Buon Ma Thuot. In terms of industry, Lam Dong owns 5.4 billion tons of bauxite reserves and 599 million tons of titanium, with the ability to attract renewable energy projects, especially wind power and solar power, aiming for a capacity of 5,292.11 MW in the 2025 - 2030 period.

Despite the great potential, the development of the strength of the economic regions also faces some challenges. One of them is the lack of synchronization in planning and infrastructure development between regions. According to Mr. Le Binh Minh, to solve this problem, the province has identified planning as the key step. Therefore, the province will urgently review and adjust the provincial planning to ensure consistency with regional and national planning. The province will focus on attracting investment in areas with strengths such as: high-quality agriculture, tourism, urban areas, renewable energy, exploitation and deep processing of bauxite and titanium.

At the same time, focus on handling problems in specialized planning, land planning and urban-rural planning to create a synchronous legal corridor, favorable for investors and long-term development orientation. From there, create momentum from the resonance between local economic zones.

By making the most of the resonance between economic regions, effectively solving the problem of modern organizational structure and administration, Lam Dong has all the conditions to become a new growth pole of the region, contributing to the overall development of the whole country in the new period.
