When Real Madrid decided to spend 50 million euros to bring Carreras to Bernabeu, many fans expressed skepticism. This deal was considered a risky gamble when the player was only 22 years old, grew up in the club's training academy but had to leave to find opportunities and now returned with a huge fee.
But in just a few months, Carreras has quickly proven that the investment was worth it. According to Transfermarkt 's latest valuation, Carreras is now worth €50 million, exactly what Real Madrid spent to re-sign him. Remarkably, just 125 days ago – when he was still playing for Benfica – his market value was €15 million lower.
Carreras is currently the fourth player with the most minutes played at Real Madrid, behind only Thibaut Courtois, Kylian Mbappe and Aurelien Tchouameni. Not only is he solid in defense, he also stands out in his ability to assist in attack. Carreras leads the team in crosses (5) and is also an important factor in ball progression.

Other statistics show that Carreras is only behind another new signing, Dean Huijsen, in passing parameters: number of passes made (539 vs. 519), successful passes (473 vs. 461), forward passes (101 vs. 89) and passes into the final third (116 vs. 79).
On the defensive front, Carreras leads the team in both interceptions and duels won (both 47). With his all-round performance and ability to adapt quickly, Carreras has cleared all doubts, becoming one of the important strategic cards for coach Xabi Alonso.
