Reporting at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Dan - Secretary of the District Party Committee said that after 2.5 years of implementing the Resolution of the 9th District Party Congress for the 2020 - 2025 term, 4/5 targets achieved the annual plan; 5/10 targets achieved the 5-year plan. Implementing 5 key tasks and 2 breakthroughs achieved a number of important results, contributing to promoting socio -economic development, stabilizing security and order, and improving people's lives.

Notably, tourism has gradually recovered, attracting 1.1 million visitors in the first 9 months of 2023, reaching 76.38% of the plan, up 37.7% over the same period in 2022. In addition, some agricultural products have initially affirmed their brand and quality such as grapevines and apple trees. In 2022, the budget revenue was nearly 368.6 billion/216 billion VND, reaching 170.6% of the plan. In the first 9 months of 2023, the revenue was estimated at 239 billion/310 billion VND, reaching 77.1% of the plan... At the same time, the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee has selected and focused on, resolutely leading and directing the effective resolution of 4 pressing issues of the district...

Besides, Tuy Phong still has difficulties and problems such as most medical stations in the district do not have doctors, medical facilities and equipment are lacking and weak; investment in technical infrastructure in industrial zones and clusters is still slow; lack of teachers, lack of teaching and learning equipment in some schools; handling of outstanding cases is not thorough...

Concluding the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Duong Van An acknowledged the efforts of the Standing Committee of Tuy Phong District Party Committee. Regarding the limitations, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee further emphasized that the district's economic development has not been commensurate with its existing potential. The district's budget revenue in recent years has reached and exceeded the target, but is showing a downward trend compared to other localities. In 2020, the district ranked 3rd, but by 2022, the district dropped to 5th place. Not only that, industry, agriculture, tourism and services have not had a breakthrough development, the situation of waste and environmental sanitation still exists, especially security and order are still complicated...

In the coming time, the Provincial Party Secretary proposed that the District Party Committee focus on promoting and developing the three economic pillars (industry - agriculture and tourism) to contribute to the socio-economic development of the district in particular and the province in general. In particular, speed up the completion of industrial parks, residential areas, key projects, and tourism projects in the area. Review and advise the province to resolutely withdraw slow-to-implement projects. Encourage the development of small-scale industries, pay attention to processing products from the fishing industry to create new added value. In particular, regarding the development of Hon Cau tourism, the Provincial Party Secretary proposed that the District Party Committee pay attention to and develop tourism without affecting national defense and security, and without affecting the sea turtle breeding reserve. Research and build a model of "Tourism without plastic bags, without plastic waste" for visitors to visit here.

At the same time, pay attention to supporting fishermen to embellish and upgrade the Dinh, Van, and Nam Hai Lang Temple in fishing villages to preserve and maintain the long-standing cultural features.

At the same time, in addition to public investment resources, the district must mobilize social resources to participate in improving the quality of health care, education, and cultural institutions. Continue to promote the leadership role of the Party Committee and the head in the work of preventing corruption and negativity. Strengthen mass mobilization work, pay attention to properly handling complicated issues related to ethnicity, religion, environmental pollution, land disputes, complaints, etc. to prevent large gatherings and loss of security and order in the area.
