According to Taste Atlas, fried cakes are one of the traditional cakes worth trying when coming to Vietnam. Fried cakes are round, with sweet or savory fillings inside. The savory fillings include minced meat, wood ear mushrooms, and shredded vermicelli. Meanwhile, the sweet fillings include sugar and crushed, smooth green beans. The outside of the fried cakes is often coated with sesame or sugar. If you have a sweet tooth, you can also try the molasses fried cakes with a thick layer of molasses covering the outside, which is both beautiful and stimulating to the taste buds.
