Thach Thanh builds cultural and sports institutions to improve people's spiritual life.

Thach Thanh district identifies that building cultural and sports institutions at the grassroots level plays an important role, contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people, and at the same time contributing to building the current new rural culture.

Thach Thanh builds cultural and sports institutions to improve people's spiritual life. Many children's play equipment are invested in the Cultural House of Village 6, Thach Long Commune.

The cultural house of village 6, Thach Long commune was invested in construction in 2017, with an area of 200m2 in a campus of 4,330m2. This place is green with trees, stone benches and equipped with slides, swings, horizontal bars... to serve the sports practice of the people.

Ms. Le Thi Hoa, village 6, said: “Since the cultural house has a cultural and sports area, my family and the villagers have been very excited. Children have a spacious and safe playground; adults have a playground to exercise. The elderly also have a space to live, chat, read books and newspapers... The cultural house has truly become a place for exchange, activities, study and regular sports practice for the villagers.”

In Thach Long commune, there is currently a cultural center built on a total area of 15,845m2. Including a multi-purpose cultural house, volleyball court, badminton court, soccer field... 6/6 villages have cultural houses, all fully equipped with sound and lighting systems to serve the needs of meetings and cultural - artistic, physical education - sports activities for the people.

Vice Chairman of Thach Long Commune People's Committee Dao Van Dong said: "In the coming time, the locality will continue to promote propaganda work so that people can participate in activities at clubs, art and sports teams to exploit and use the facilities effectively. At the same time, mobilize local businesses and children living far from home to support both materially and spiritually to create motivation to promote the local cultural, art and sports movement to develop more and more."

In recent years, Thach Thanh district has issued many programs, plans, and projects to direct and implement the investment in building cultural and sports facilities at the district, commune, village, and neighborhood levels. Every year, the District People's Committee organizes inspections and reviews to accurately assess the current status of grassroots cultural and sports facilities, thereby guiding and directing the People's Committees of communes and towns to develop plans, allocate capital, and mobilize people to contribute labor and money to invest in building, renovating, and upgrading local cultural and sports facilities.

Up to now, the Thach Thanh District Cultural - Sports Center is being invested in construction with a scale of 9.06 hectares, 19 communes and towns have multi-purpose halls that meet standards; 4 communes have cultural - sports centers; 16 communes and towns have stadiums; 9 communes have playgrounds for the elderly and children; 199/199 villages and neighborhoods have cultural houses and village sports areas. In addition, with the policy of socializing the field of physical education and sports, the District People's Committee has created conditions and granted licenses to many private establishments that meet standards to build swimming pools, soccer fields, yoga facilities, gyms, children's playgrounds... to serve the needs of the people in the area.

Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Thach Thanh district, Le Thi Huong, said: “In recent times, the system of grassroots cultural and sports institutions of the district has always met the needs of organizing cultural and artistic activities. The number of grassroots cultural and sports institutions has increased, cultural, artistic and sports clubs have been established to meet the needs of community activities, ensuring playgrounds for all subjects, especially children and the elderly. Party committees, authorities and organizations regularly organize mass cultural and sports activities, and mass tournaments that attract a large number of people to participate in training and competing. Therefore, the quality of the movement to build a grassroots cultural life in the district has been improved, contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people, promoting the socio -economic development of localities in the district.

Thach Thanh district has always paid attention to allocating resources to build cultural and sports institutions to ensure effective operations; at the same time, the socialization of funding sources for the construction of cultural and sports institutions has been supported by the people, and has mobilized many organizations and individuals to contribute funds for construction. Up to now, many cultural houses, communal stadiums, cultural houses, and village sports areas have been newly built, renovated and repaired; many village cultural houses have been purchased and invested in equipment and auxiliary works; many green tree-lined roads and flower-lined roads have been planted to create a green, clean and beautiful landscape for village roads and alleys; Rural roads were expanded, lighting and security cameras were installed... In 2023, the whole district had 136 cultural and sports works invested in new construction, renovation and repair with a budget of more than 43 billion VND, of which the State budget was more than 18 billion VND, the rest was from the people's contributions and other legally mobilized sources.
