Thai Nguyen urgently responds to and overcomes the consequences of storm No. 10

Due to the severe impact of storm No. 10, which caused widespread heavy rain from September 28, with average rainfall of 100-200mm/24 hours, many places in Thai Nguyen province experienced landslides and flooding, directly affecting people's lives, property and essential infrastructure.

On National Highway 3C, through Na Pha village, Nam Cuong commune, a landslide occurred with a large volume of rock and soil.

On September 30, the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province issued Official Dispatch No. 10/CD-UBND requesting relevant departments, branches, organizations, localities and units to urgently deploy measures to respond to and overcome the consequences of natural disasters, ensure the safety of people's lives and property and the state, and soon stabilize people's lives and restore production.

Accordingly, heads of departments, branches, sectors, units, and Chairmen of People's Committees of communes and wards must directly direct and closely monitor developments of floods, landslides, flash floods, and landslides; promptly review and arrange forces and means to be ready to evacuate and relocate people from dangerous areas and areas at risk of landslides and deep flooding. Localities must ensure the safety of students, teachers, and people when passing through flooded areas; promptly divert and guide traffic.

The Provincial People's Committee also requested the police and military forces to coordinate with localities to proactively respond, be ready to rescue, and overcome the consequences of natural disasters; the Department of Agriculture and Environment to focus on directing the protection of dams, irrigation works, and agricultural production; the Department of Construction to urgently repair essential infrastructure, ensuring safe and smooth traffic.

Along with that, the Department of Health and the Department of Education and Training deploy measures to protect the safety of forces, vehicles, equipment, and facilities under their management; urgently coordinate with localities to repair and fix damaged facilities, ensuring conditions for teaching, learning, medical examination and treatment for people, to be completed before October 5, 2025.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Finance to coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Environment and relevant agencies to review, synthesize, and propose support to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, especially for poor households and policy families. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Thai Nguyen Newspaper, Radio and Television to strengthen propaganda and provide guidance on disaster prevention and response skills.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested all localities and units to seriously implement, report implementation results, promptly reflect difficulties and problems for handling, ensuring to minimize damage caused by floods.
