Thai Nguyen launched a campaign to learn from the brave example of Mr. Phan Van Thanh.

The People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province has just issued Decision No. 1571/QD-UBND dated October 19, 2025 on launching a campaign to learn from the brave example of saving people swept away by floodwaters of Mr. Phan Van Thanh, Head of the Security and Order Protection Team of Xuan Ha 1 hamlet, Thanh Cong commune.

Authorized by the President, Deputy Minister of Public Security Tran Quoc To awarded the "Medal of Courage" to the family representative of Mr. Phan Van Thanh.

Mr. Phan Van Thanh is the person who defied danger and sacrificed himself to save three children swept away by flood, demonstrating bravery, compassion and responsibility for the community. In recognition of his heroic actions, the President posthumously awarded him the Medal of Courage.

According to the decision, the Provincial People's Committee launched a campaign for all cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers and people of all ethnic groups in the province to study and follow the example of Mr. Phan Van Thanh.

The study focuses on three main contents: courage and willingness to sacrifice for the community; responsibility at work and towards the people; spreading the spirit of solidarity, love, sharing and practical action in life and work.

The Provincial People's Committee requests departments, branches, sectors and localities to widely propagate on mass media, social networks, agencies, units and residential areas; promptly discover, commend and reward good people, good deeds, brave actions and noble gestures.

The movement is linked with patriotic campaigns and emulation movements such as: "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle", "All people unite to build a cultural life", "All people protect national security"...

The Department of Home Affairs is assigned to monitor, synthesize results, advise the Provincial People's Committee to reward and replicate advanced models; agencies, units and localities are responsible for synchronous and effective implementation.
