Thai Nguyen: Gratitude to armed forces participating in overcoming the consequences of storm No. 11

On the afternoon of October 15, Thai Nguyen province organized a program to express gratitude and farewell to the armed forces (LLVT) who participated in responding, rescuing, and overcoming the consequences caused by storm No. 11 and its circulation.

Speaking at the program, Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Xuan Truong was moved to share that the circulation of storm No. 11 caused historic floods and unprecedented damage to Thai Nguyen province. In the most difficult time, Thai Nguyen province received the attention of leaders of the Party, State, central ministries, branches, localities, people nationwide and armed forces. As soon as the floods occurred, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security , and local armed forces were promptly present, coordinating with the authorities and people in the province to respond and overcome the consequences. The support of the armed forces helped Thai Nguyen overcome the consequences quickly and restore activities in the shortest time.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 26 collectives with outstanding achievements in supporting Thai Nguyen province to overcome the consequences of floods.
The simple but meaningful farewell ceremony was an opportunity for the Party Committee, government and people of Thai Nguyen to express their deep gratitude for the silent contributions and sacrifices of the officers and soldiers during the most severe days of floods.
According to statistics, during the recent flood, the whole province mobilized 28 army units, more than 50 militia units with over 49,000 officers and soldiers and 1,320 vehicles. The army evacuated 3,463 households from dangerous areas, reinforced more than 3.5km of dikes, repaired more than 2,000 landslides and flooding points on national highways, provincial roads and more than 1,000 inter-commune roads; collected more than 68,000 tons of waste, cleaned 150 schools, 10 medical facilities and supported over 12,000 affected households.
Along with the Army force, the Provincial Police Director also mobilized 100% of officers and soldiers on duty to respond, with more than 15,000 people and 3,000 vehicles participating in rescue and overcoming the consequences. Hundreds of officers and soldiers could not return in time to help their families even though their houses were damaged; preliminary statistics show that more than 700 houses of police officers were severely affected by the storm...
As soon as the water receded, the armed forces continued to clean the environment, disinfect, transport relief goods, and help people restore production. More than 80 tons of necessities and relief goods including boxed lunches, instant noodles, bread, medicine, clean water, etc. were delivered to every household in the affected areas.
