Thang Binh attracts investment for industrial development

Industry is growing

In Thang Binh district, there are 9 industrial clusters (ICs) planned according to the decision of the Provincial People's Committee with a planned land area of ​​over 156.8 hectares. Of which, 4 ICs have been established and put into operation, including Ha Lam - Cho Duoc, Binh An, Ke Xuyen - Quan Go and Quy Xuan.

These days, the production and business activities of Seaside Sofa Cut & Sew Co., Ltd. (Ha Lam Industrial Park - Cho Duoc) are very vibrant. Ms. Trinh Thi Minh Thuy - assistant director of the company said that in 2024, the company exported more than 800 thousand sofa sets to the US market. The company is creating jobs for 360 workers with stable income.

The company has been in operation since 2020, with stable production and business despite the COVID-19 pandemic causing many obstacles. Thanks to recruiting and retraining highly skilled workers, the sofa production process is of high quality, ensuring the strict requirements of the demanding US market.

Peak Outdoor Co., Ltd. is also doing well in Ha Lam - Cho Duoc Industrial Park. In 2024, this company will produce more than 200,000 tents for export to the US and European markets, bringing in good revenue. The company has a stable workforce of 370 people.

Mr. Zhao Lin - Deputy Director of Peak Outdoor Co., Ltd. said that since its inception, the company has received attention and support from the local government to overcome difficulties. The local labor force meets the high requirements in manufacturing export products. Peak Outdoor Co., Ltd. has just invested in an additional factory to expand its production and business scale. The company needs to buy another factory and recruit workers to meet export orders.

According to Mr. Le Quang Hat - Standing Deputy Secretary of Thang Binh District Party Committee, the total value of the industry - construction sector in 2024 reached 6,421 billion VND (achieving 100.72% of the 2024 plan, an increase of more than 10.9% compared to 2023).

Most of the manufacturing enterprises in the industrial zones operate stably and are growing, increasing their production and business scale. The main industrial products of Thang Binh district include garment, mineral exploitation, construction material production, and agricultural, forestry and fishery processing. Industrial activities provide thousands of jobs, contributing to promoting the local socio -economic development and improving the living standards of the people.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Thong - Director of the Center for Land Fund Development & Industry, Thang Binh Services, recently the district has attracted 4 industrial investment projects.

Including Ha Lam furniture factory of Ha Lam Furniture Import-Export Company Limited with a total investment of 42 billion VND; foam factory of Ha Lam Furniture Import-Export Company Limited with a total investment of about 48 billion VND; separate furniture factory of Thang Binh Trading and Technical Company Limited with a total investment of about 35 billion VND; YNG Hua aluminum profile processing factory of Asean Quang Nam Company Limited with a total investment of about 32 billion VND.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thong said that the orientation of industrial development in Thang Binh district is to focus on attracting investment from enterprises to develop industry into a key industry, creating a driving force to shift the local economic structure. Industrial development is based on linking industry planning with regional planning to create synchronization and mutual impact for development.

The district coordinates with provincial agencies to expand Tam Thang Industrial Park to Binh Sa commune and Dong Que Son Industrial Park to Binh Phuc and Binh Giang communes. Thang Binh has a policy to upgrade Ha Lam - Cho Duoc Industrial Park to an industrial park.

“The district continues to mobilize and attract resources to invest in more complete infrastructure of industrial parks; well implement policies and mechanisms, build opportunistic projects; especially promote administrative reform, strengthen promotion and call for investment in the industrial sector,” said Mr. Thong.

According to Mr. Le Quang Hat, the general goal of industrial development in the area is to focus on in-depth industrial development, gradually modernize existing industrial production, strongly develop industries with competitive advantages, create high added value, and meet the needs of the domestic and export markets.

The district applies mechanisms and policies to continue promoting and calling for investment to increase the occupancy rate in the industrial zones that have been planned in detail.
