Music composition contest about Dien Bien Phu Victory

The music composition campaign was launched by the Vietnam Musicians Association in coordination with the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations and the People's Committee of Dien Bien province.

The organizing committee has narrowed down the songs with content that highlights the great historical value and the enormous, profound significance of the historic Dien Bien Phu victory for the nation and the era; the heroic spirit, creative intelligence, intellectual fortitude, and determination to fight and win of our army and people; the shining examples of soldiers, frontline laborers, youth volunteers... and all classes of people and forces serving the campaign.

Besides that, there are songs praising the economic , national defense, security, cultural and social achievements of the ethnic groups in the Northwest and Dien Bien province over the past 70 years.

Exploration and creativity in musical structure, lyrics and expression methods are encouraged.

The entry must be an unpopular song that has not won any prize in any central, local or other sectoral competitions.

The author is responsible for the copyright of his work according to the provisions of law.

The Organizing Committee will accept applications from now until April 24, 2024. Each author can submit no more than two works, sent to: Vietnam Musicians Association, 43 Nguyen Hong, Thanh Cong Ward, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi; or via email: congtachoivien@gmail.com.

The 15 finalists were posted on the TikTok platform. The judges will use TikTok's scores and views to determine the prizes.

First prize 100 million VND

The award gala is expected to be held on the occasion of the 134th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 2024) in Dien Bien Phu city.

The organizing committee awarded one first prize of 100 million VND, two second prizes of 50 million VND each, four third prizes of 30 million VND each, eight consolation prizes of 10 million VND each, and a number of other thematic prizes.
