In a specific case, Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh, a 12th grade student at Tran Phu High School (HCMC), wondered: "I submitted my application based on my high school transcript to 3 universities and my application based on my ability test scores to 2 other universities, but was informed that I was eligible for early admission to all 5 universities. I don't know how I should choose, and what should I do in the future to make sure I am admitted?"
Regarding this issue, Dr. Vo Van Tuan, Vice Principal of Van Lang University, acknowledged that it is very common for a candidate to submit applications using early admission methods to many schools and receive many notifications of eligibility for admission.
Candidates come to the university to submit their application for admission using early admission methods.
"However, students need to note that candidates can only be admitted to one choice after registering on the Ministry of Education and Training's system. Registering a successful choice is completely different from registering new choices using high school graduation exam scores," Dr. Tuan noted.
If eligible to be admitted early for 5 wishes, according to Dr. Tuan, candidates only need to put one wish they want in the first priority order, there is no need to put all 5 wishes because if they put all 5 wishes, the system will still consider the first wish as admitted.
As for registering new wishes using the high school graduation exam method, candidates need to put everything in order of priority. If priority 1 is not passed, the system will continue to consider priority 2... This is the difference between placing early admission wishes and new wishes, according to Dr. Tuan.
In case candidates want to register a new wish but still do not want to lose the opportunity to be admitted early, Dr. Tuan emphasized that they should put the early admitted wish first, then the new wishes in order of priority.
Many candidates are eligible for early admission to several universities at the same time.
Master Nguyen Thi Kim Phung, Deputy Director of the Center for Admissions and Business Relations of the University of Finance and Marketing, added: "When candidates are admitted to schools through early admission, the next step is to review the information on their admission wishes to the schools on the general information portal of the Ministry of Education and Training after the schools update the list. If their names are not on the system, they need to check with the schools to consider adding missing information to avoid losing their chances of admission."
Master Phung believes that many candidates mistakenly think that receiving the notification of eligibility for early admission is the end, and that they do not need to take the next step of registering their wishes on the general admission system of the Ministry of Education and Training. "If so, candidates will lose their chance of being admitted. And even if they register on the system of the Ministry of Education and Training without the correct technique, they will also lose their chance. Therefore, they need to think carefully to put their most desired major first," Master Phung shared.
